A Kentucky man is a big winner today after a promotional give-away at the all-star home-run hitting contest in Pittsburgh.
It's all thanks to his luck in yesterday's home run derby for the major league All-Stars.
James Sparks, a native of Irvine, won 250 thousand dollars toward a new home last night. He was a national finalist in a Century 21 giveaway where 8 finalists were each paired up with an All-Star slugger. If their slugger won the home run derby, then they won the prize.
Sparks was rooting for Phillie All-Star, Ryan Howard. Howard came thru for him.
Sparks and his wife are the new owners of a house with 250 thousand dollars coming from Century 21, and they have a new favorite baseball player.

I was watching that last night and Chris Berman kept saying they were from Irving, KY. When they had won, and I heard the guy talk, I knew they were from Irvine. He was just as country as he could be. I think it's cool that someone around this area won something like that.
