Nice win Sacred Heart! Archbishop Mitty is where Aaron Gordon plays ball. He's a top 10 recruit for 2013.

Very good win for Sacred Heart. This was the championship game in their division of the Nike Tournament of Champions.

Samsel's shot gave Sacred Heart, ranked 11th in The Courier-Journal's preseason coaches poll, a 62-61 lead over the Monarchs (6-3). Ashley Johnson added a free throw with seven seconds remaining for the final margin.
DaiJia Ruffin carried the scoring load for the Valkyries (10-0), with 27 points on 10 of 16 shots and 7 of 7 free throws. Samsel finished with 10 points.
