Coach McCoy needs to start 100% fresh. He doesn't need to bring back any former coaches that were part of a losing tradition as coaches. To start something new and build a new tradition don't bring back former coaches. Start new, completely.
Besides I never did understand the double reverse against Betsy Lane on the goalline he ran 2 years ago. OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW, COMPLETELY!
You got a good head coach now, Don't surround him with a bunch of good ole local boys that have been there and done that. Alot of kids wont play if he is back.

Don't quite understand that but okay. With Grayson along with Dane Brown, the Hornets had won more games than they had for awhile. I wouldn't blame all of their faults on them, they didn't have much support from anyone in Magoffin. Grayson is very highly thought of in the area among coaches, I would imagine McCoy hand picked Grayson. Also this late in the game for someone to be hired, I'd imagine Magoffin will struggle to get a completed staff before July 15th or whenever the first official practice date is this year. I don't look for McCoy to surround himself with the good ole boys, outside of Grayson. Grayson is the most knowledgable football guy to come out of Magoffin that I know of, I couldn't imagine some of his own to turn their backs on him after what all he's done for the program as a player and a coach.

Very good point, He was a fine player for Magoffin and did play for UK.
I just think for a total rebuild of a program you don't bring back former coaches.
I know without a doubt he knows football, but this late in the game coach McCoy has to get some coaches. I'm just saying most football programs that are trying to rebuild bring in all new personel.I mean they were bad last year but they didn't lose to Betsy lane. Magoffin had a ton of talent 2 years ago and only won 3 games.
If I'm building a house, I don't use the same lumber from the old one to build my living room. You get my meaning. I go out and buy all new wood. I think to rebuild you go all out and bring in an entire new staff and I think within 4 years you will see an improvement.Grayson has already been there and done that and I'm not saying he's a bad coach. I'm saying start new 100%.

McCoy was hired late, I'm sure he's racking his brain to come up with a competative staff. And when "building a new house" so to speak, you may use the majority of new lumber but you may use your old deck. See where I'm going with this. When Matney rebuilt Johnson Central, he kept some of the old staff seems to be working well for him. It's good to have someone around who already knows the kids and knows there abilities, that's were Grayson comes in. You can have all the potential and talent in the world but if they're not dedicated to the cause as a team you can forget about it.
