Justin Haddix headed to Corbin?
#1
Just heard this a couple times while out today. Just wondering if it was true? Corbin would be a great place for a someone that loves football.

Who is he?

Was qb at Breathitt that hung 54 points against corbin the last time they made it to the state championship game. Went to Western and was the starting qb and holds many records at that school. Perry Centrals coach for the last 2 seasons, great coach great guy the kids love him and he is very up beat and shows a lot of passion for coaching. This would stop the kids from leaving Corbin, because every kid that knows him will want to play for him.

I would like to see a young guy at Corbin.
Someone seriously needs to bring some excitement back to that program.
Also, he would actually schedule Whitley.
Its a win-win for everybody.

However, as of now, Jewell is still the coach there. He has not been fired, and to be honest, i thought it would of happened a long time ago if it was going to.
Either way, Corbin would be a much better place to coach than PCC.

Still don't see Jewell going anywhere but who knows maybe it will happen

I couldn't see Corbin bringing in Haddix. It ruffled a lot of feathers when Mike Whitaker came to Corbin with his "pass happy" offense (Even though it was really 50/50 if not 55-45 in favor of the run.)

If he watches any film on Corbin's passing game prospects for next year, I doubt that he would be interested in the job, even if it was open.

Well to tell the truth you will hear some many rumors this time of year that it is so funny. For example I heard a good one today(Corbin has been in contact with Scott Russell about coming to Corbin.) what a joke Scotty won't go there. Then I heard that middlesboro is talking to Hilton about going there!! This is truly what you would call the silly season.

Nothing is a sure thing in SEKY until it happens.
You should have seen the prosepects i was hearing for Whitley before Black came in...

It's amazing how much crap you'll hear and none of it will be true, so don't believe anything until it really happens.

Now that Corbin is in the same district as Bell and the same region as Central it is not as appealing to prospective coaches (or parents looking for a place for their kids to transfer) Redhounds might want to hang on to the coach they have till 2015......

Russell was not rehired at corbin a few years ago, so cannot believe they would try to hire him now.

I know Justin Haddix from his time on the hill. He is an outstanding person and a rising star as a coach. He would be a good fit at Corbin. He knows football and holds several records at WKU. Whoever gets him will be lucky.
#14
Thats a lie he will stay at perry
#15
Corbin is not open. I do not believe it will be open. Football does not run the show at Corbin any longer. The administration is satisfied with Jewell and he will be there as long as he wants to be. I expect to see him there when his son comes out for senior night four years from now.
#16
I think it is just a matter of time until he ends back @ home coaching the Bobcats.

Talk to him Friday night and hes staying as far as I know.
#18
its all talk Jewell isn't going any where any time soon!!! If he was going it would have happened by now.

By the end of next season, Haddix will probably be wishin he was in Corbin. Heard he beefed up the schedule even more adding Breathitt, Tates Creek, and Corbin.

...and, by simply having better players.

I, for one, am not one of these people who think "well, we went .500, but we played a really tough schedule" matters to the masses. Should it be taken into consideration? Absolutely. 120%. Problem is, the people you are trying to reach out to don't see it that way. Kids and the kids you are trying to recruit within your school district care more about winning. That's it. The whole "play better people" sounds good and all, but you get better by winning and simply having better players. Now, it's up to you, as a coach to drive that car without wrecking it if given the resources.

Sorry for the rant. Lol

Breathitt will not be as good in 2013 so adding them this year will not add much as far as difficulty IMO.

I agree 120%.

I didn't think I'd be alone in that thinking. I realize it's not PC, but PC is crap and fluff. lol

Fact is, 90% of the programs in the state and the communities that support them couldn't careless if you go beat a perennial 1 win team or a 10 win team. All they see and care about is, did our team win or lose? That's it.

Giving them a blah blah, moral victory story about a loss to a powerhouse team (for the most part anyway, some close games to a superior team earn merit) is just hot air to them.

Haddix isn't going anywhere! He just put a whole new weight room in at PCC!
