Great game to watch at a great event! The Farm Bureau is awesome!
Hicks was stellar as usual, but Henry Clay stayed around and climbed back in the 2nd half. Henry Clay is big at every position. Bigger than Trinity at almost all of them most of the time.
Very impressed with the Blue Devils. Great game to wrap up a fun day of basketball in Pikeville!

Trinity came out in the 2nd half and was flat and the Devils took it to them. Henry Clay is fun to watch, the got size and athletes at every position and their subs never skip a beat when they are in there. But #1 for Henry Clay is smooth!!! What grade is this kid in?

#1 for HC is Christen Cunningham and he is a junior. He transferred to Henry Clay from Scott County. I agree he is smooth as butter.

Great game to end a fun day at the Farm Bureau Classic. Already looking forward to next year!

Great comeback by the Blue Devils as they were down at one point by 16 points. Darryl Hicks missed a three pointer at the buzzer. Junior point guard Christen Cunningham led Henry Clay with 15 points and Darryl Hicks had 21 for Trinity.

Good comeback for HC. I called HC by 1 in the Pick'em.
Congrats Blue Devils.

The scary thing about Henry Clay is that they start 4 juniors...They have been my pick to win it for next year, but looks like they could even compete this year...
These kids have been playing together for many years now (Cunningham, Green, Grundy) and have great chemistry...I watched them dismantle a pretty good West Jessamine team and they did it in entertaining style as well.
Should be a fun year in the 11th Region!

I liked Henry Clay last year but they lost early in the tourney. However they were sophmores last year. I guess another year of maturity and the dissapointment of last year has motivated them. Definitely a team to keep your eye on. Not like Hicks to lose players to other schools. Anybody know the story on this? Just asking. Peace be among us. Brother Cecil.

11th region is going to be great again this year.

Should be a good rematch game on Feb 2 when these two play again at Lafayette in the Jock Sutherland Classic.

As the "story" goes he mother went to Hicks and wanted a promise that he would start. "Allegedly" he told her that if she wanted those kind of promises maybe they should look elsewhere to play. Not sure how it works but I think they still live in Georgetown

Thanks for the answer. Can't say as how I can blame Hicks no good coach will make that kind of promise. Athletics build character. Brother Cecil.

I agree, no coach would promise a kid a starting spot and I remember he did not start for Henry Clay until around Christmas--then from my understanding, he worked his way into one of the best players on the team--Whether it is true or not, it looks as if Henry Clay got a good one and Scott County lost out!

He started in the pre-season Fast Lane Classic at Sheldon Clark against Johnson Central, but that was pre-season. So idk about after that.

I am talking about last year, this is his 2nd year at Henry Clay--he is going to start this year--he may be their best player and what I am hearing around Lexington, getting some good looks from many colleges. I have not seen Henry Clay play this year, but thought they had a chance to be good--they have a ton of talent, but can they put it together at the end of the year.

I watched them play. They are very talented and very fun to watch!
