To all my Garrard Co. Friends let's celebrate the LION!
#1
A Poem for you.

I love you all.
I love your lion statue more.
I love Kelly Kapowski the most.

When I drive KY 52 to Lancaster I get sick
but then I realize I should be happy because I am in Plum Lick.
Your football stadium has hedges
Makes me want to have potato wedges.

The lion roares with love when he sees a colonel fan.
His alligence is tore but his butt will never get sore.
He loves Lancaster, but he will love the Colonels more
When he sees the final score.

I offer you my hand Lion fans.
we can sit together and hear the Bourbon Co. band
And at the end of the game we can cheer
When the lion roars with a gratifying sneer.

He enjoyed the attention he received exactly one month ago.
On Friday he will say HEY HEY HO!
There will be no more sorrow for the lion statue
He will fall for the ones with the giant cashews.

God Bless America!

To 'Zack Morris' and my Bourbon Friends:

The Golden Lion is at Home
Where he Proudly sits;
‘King of The Throne’

It stands poised in a tradition
Of Respect, Integrity and Character,
Unlike few other!

He is Loved and Cherished by GC
His symbol grows, as he gets older
Why would he move to a place
With only one year to bolster

Although the records are far and few
The GC Fans have paid him just due
So, it is in Garrard he will stay
To Roar again yet another day

JW4914, you are the man.
Can I buy you a burger at the game?
Maybe you can look over all the shame.
That will occur on the field.
When the Colonels cop a feel.

The Lion does stand for many things.
Too bad he doesn't have killer early 1990's bangs.
The lion felt violated one month ago
When the Colonels rocked his boat
Made him want to float
Sorry I have to gloat
DyeHouse will never be the same
After the colonels tried to take him away.

I really like Garrard Co.
Last year they had quite the finale
An overtime victory at Adena Springs
Made all Colonels fans want to scream
Made me eat 4 gallons of vanilla ice cream

A heartbreaking loss to Belfry
Made everyone in Lancaster cry
Made the Lion believe he could fly
When he actuality part of him actually died.

God Bless Lancaster Kentucky! AND GOD BLESS SMITH'S RESTAURANT IN DOWNTOWN! THAT'S WHERE MR. BELDING BOUGHT US HAMBURGERS LAST MONTH!

Lol, y'all are cracking me up. Now that someone has recommended Smith's restaurant in the square, I have to give it a try now....................I mean...............

Smiths shop must be the place to try,
I have to eat there before I die.
In the Square by 27 and 52
I must eat if its the last thing I do.

This is great!

Lions usually don't make for very good teams. Look at Detroit. Need I say more.
#7
LWC, if you like an old greasy spoon
then stop by Smith's at noon
Have a burger and Fries to munch
It will fill that belly anytime, dinner or lunch

Zach, the Man
with the burger plan
JW, the Dude
Appreciates the gratitude

Let's make a gracious deal
And let the scoreboard dictate
at halftime,who buys the meal
By Home or Away's losing fate

Mysonis beware
and don't compare
Because the Garrard Lion's Den
Can be scary, if you've never been

So come prepared
Try not to be scared
But, if you get within sight
Watch out for the claws and bite!

Is Lawrence Ferlinghetti in the house?

The great thing about the Garrard-Bourbon games is the mutual respect the players have. It's awesome that the fans can share in that fun! This poetry has me feeling as rosy as one of Kelly's pink dresses.

I can't wait till Friday Night
Oh it will be such a beautiful sight
The lion better sleep with his night light
Cause he knows he is in for a fright.

Ene Mini Minie Mo
Catch a lion by his toe
If he roars make him say
Bourbon Co can play play play

In the end the fans will say
That there were so glad they could pay
To see the Colonels score away
While the lion was asleep in his hay.

The statue is bolted to the ground
Makes my face grow into a frown
His backside almost certainly turned brown
When last month it all went down down down.

(Next verse refers to Garrard-Belfry radio broadcast as heard on Screechs ultra super radio)

When the lions went for two
They thought they were due
The radio announcer booed
When the officials hands stayed glued.

The last verse is in honor of The Voice of the Lions
Who on radio last year said HE WAS IN! and the officials decision I ain't buyin.
DID HE MAKE IT NOOOOO! In the game against Belfry
Screamed so hard I thought he was John Pelfrey.
When they went for two The radio announcer thought the lions were hosed
Then he had to take a break to blow his very long nose.

Now I have to go save a duck that is covered in oil! We had an oil spill in the lake here by Bayside!

God Bless US 27! And the very urban looking Subway in Lancaster!

I dont know whether to laugh or to run from this man love going on in here.

Zach Morris has me hoping for a Belfry/Bourbon matchup in the semi's.

Except I won't be bringing poetry...mine will be in the form of a rap much like when the Bayside crew did a rap version of Snow White and the 7 Dwarves.

oh heck yeah! Makes me want to slip a few caffine pills in just to make me feel special! But remember! There is no hope with dope!!!

I personally think we should make a video yearbook of the surroundings. Start with the lion getting grunked and then all of us holding hands singing WE ARE THE WORLD! WE ARE THE CHILDREN! THEN WE COULD PUT IT IN A TIME CAPSULE FOR THE BGR CLASS OF 2042!

Hey Zach Morris....What about those College Years? Not so good, huh? You still have that giant cell phone? I always thought that was pretty cool!

I must say the poetry between you and JW4914 has been some of the most entertaining stuff I've read on here this week.

Why thank you kind sir. I love poetry! Especially when it involves the lion! I actually still use my gigantic cell phone on occassions. It's like I am stuck in a crazy Appalachian Wireless world. I even got Kelly to send me nudies on there. It's amazing the LED screen quality those big cell phone produce!

The college years were a bore. I didn't graduate. I was stuck eating stale mayo and trying to steal booze from Mike Golic's less famous older brother. That R.A. really sucked.

Nice poetry preppy. Did Kelly help you write that?
