The 12th Region will have some good competition this season.
Southwestern: The Warriors will look to defend their 12th Region title and make another trip to Rupp Arena. SW lost Cody Epperson, Justin Epperson, Daulton Marlow, and Robby Lewis, but return Isaiah Collier and David Kapinga.
Pulaski County: The Maroons have two of the top players in the region returning in Taylor Gover and Kody Johnson. Tyler Goins joins the pair to make up Pulaski's "Big Three."
Somerset: Look for the Jumpers to make some noise in the region with the hiring of Jeff Cothron. With the addition of Tyson Williams for McCreary Central, look for Somerset to make it back to the regional tournament for the first time in a while.
Wayne County: Rodney Woods will have a good team, as usual, led by youngsters Corey Stearns and Trey Blevins.

I've picked Pulaski Co to win it the last 2 years and they have let me down. However, with all they return I'm picking them again. PC to win the 12th in 2013.

Somerset will surprise people I think.

I like Wayne as a sleeper in this region, young team with a great coach. They are fun to watch and explosive on offense.
Great to live in Pulaski County as all 3 local schools will be at the top of the rankings respectively. With the move of Tyson Williams, Somerset, could cause problems for Pulaski with their lack of post presences. With Gover, Johnson, and Goins representing the Maroons for the fourth year, it's hard to bet against them but they have seem to be a let down in years past during tournament time
Should a fun and interesting region to watch all year. For the most part, a list of 5-7 teams seem to always bold well and have a shot to win the region when the time comes.

Southwestern returns four starters and will be hands down the best team in the region again this year.

Hands down the best team in the region? Don't think so. Pulaski returned the entire starting core and beat SW twice last year if im not mistaken. Silly too say SW is hands down the best. They lost a lot more then Pulaski

I agree that they are not "hands down" the best team. They are certainly at the top with Pulaski. Wayne and Somerset could possibly earn a mention with them too. Not sure who from the north end might be in the mix but seems West Jess, Lincoln and Boyle never go more than a year or two without making some noise.

What are your opinions on the best player in the region? It's a tough decision to be just one.

Oh I can't wait I see a sleeper.

Taylor Gover is the best player.
West Jessamine is the 3rd best team.
Somerset>Wayne County with Tyson Williams aboard.

Agreed! They return much of their team from last year, so they should be really good.

I was very impressed with Southwesterns two sophomores last year. Edwards and Kapinga should be excellent building blocks for that team. They gave Trinity the best game of the tourney

Southwestern, Pulaski, and Somerset will be Top 3. Wayne, West Jess. and Boyle will be close.

Wayne Co will shock people this year.

Everyone is sleeping on Josh Gregory out of McCreary Central. He is by far the best player in the region. He may not be on the greatest of teams, but he is lightyears ahead of the other competition in the region. Look for him to lead the region in scoring this year. With the loss of Tyson Williams expect him to carry this team to a possible District title. Mccreary also has a sleeper in Kyle Tucker, a lanky athletic guard who does it all for the Raiders.
