Manual 14, Fern Creek 7: Michael Nero scored on a 1-yard run with 3:40 to play to lift the host Crimsons (1-1) over the Tigers (0-2).
Michael Nelson then intercepted a Fern Creek pass on the second play after the kickoff to preserve the win. Nelson had two interceptions and recovered a fumble to account for three of Fern Creek’s four turnovers.
Brady Nagel’s 50-yard TD pass to Lamarius Kinslow gave the Tigers an early lead.
