Jody Demling's Class of 2014 Rankings
#1
OK, I think I have seen these guys too many times.

Ha! With this much talent that’s not a bad thing but I have seen them enough that I was nit-picking with some of the guys, so I went ahead and just ranked them.

With D’Angelo Russell now out of the mix and in a Florida prep school, Ballard’s Quentin Snider takes over the top spot. He’s been sensational this spring.

I went 25 deep with rankings and then listed some other guys that could make the cut. FYI, Khalil Rasheed isn’t in the top 25 but will likely move back in there soon. He sat out all of last season after a transfer and I want to see him before putting him in the rankings.

Here are the rankings:

• 1. Quentin Snider, Ballard – He’s the best player in the state right now regardless of class. He’s playing like a college freshman already.

• 2. Shane Hall, Johnson Central – Athletic freak, still raw and will only get better.

• 3. Jackson Davis, Lafayette – Has put on weight (muscle) and when he plays inside there’s not many around here who can stop him.

• 4. Trey Grundy, Henry Clay – Still has a tremendous upside.

• 5. Justin Johnson, Sheldon Clark – Had a great season and spring. Lots of potential.

• 6. Brandon Hatton, Dixie Heights – Best shooter in the state?

• 7. Kelan Martin, Ballard – Sometimes gets overlooked but is a sure-fire Division I player who will be able to contribute right away at next level.

• 8. Jordan Green, Henry Clay – Was injured some this spring; still on the rise.

• 9. Christen Cunningham, Henry Clay – Has improved more than any player in the class.

• 10. Jordan Fox, Dixie Heights – Has a game similar to Indiana University starting point guard Jordan Hulls and will only get better as he matures more.

• 11. David Kapinga, Pulaski Southwestern

• 12. Lamontrey Harris, PRP

• 13. Darion Burns, Fleming County

• 14. Hunter Shelton, Apollo

• 15. Austin Rentfrow, Marshall County

• 16. Craig Owens, Trinity

• 17. Chris Hudson, Cordia (Note, could move WAY up but need to see him more)

• 18. Wes Noble, Breathitt County

• 19. Nacarius Fant, Bowling Green

• 20. Antonio McDaniels, PRP

• 21. Justin Edwards, Pulaski Southwestern

• 22. Robert Shaw, St. Xavier

• 23. Jake Schulte, Newport Central Catholic

• 24. Dominique Harding, Elizabethtown

• 25. Jake Allen, North Laurel

Congrats to Southwestern's Justin Edwards and David Kapinga!

Congrats to Darion Burns from Fleming County. I think Troy Steward will join him on this list next year.
