The word âspeedâ would relate to âAroldis Chapmanâ in a word association game â and now not only for his fastball.
The 24-year-old Cuban native â with the fastest recorded pitch in Major League history at 105 mph â was arrested early Monday morning outside of Columbus for driving 93 mph on Interstate 71.

Itâs at least the fourth time heâs been caught speeding since he was issued a Kentucky driverâs license two years ago.
His first ticket was issued in August 2010 in Spencer County, Ky. Then he got another in May 2011 in Gallatin County, Ky., according to his record, provided by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Chapman has an apartment in Louisville.
A court employee in Goodyear, Ariz., confirmed Chapman also pleaded guilty to driving 30 mph over the speed limit there on Feb.15.
Chapman was arrested Monday after officers realized his license had been suspended earlier this month. Itâs his second suspension in the last 11 months.
Chapman originally lost his driving privileges after the first two speeding tickets in Kentucky and again after failing to answer to a Florida court summons in January. Details of that case were not immediately available Tuesday.
The Reds have said little about his arrest. Chapman dressed for Mondayâs evening game. He met with Reds general manager Walt Jocketty and manager Dusty Baker after the game.
âHe got a speeding ticket,â Reds manager Dusty Baker said. âHis people are working on it and weâre helping him.â
"The best advice we can give him right now is to slow down," Jocketty said. "He likes to drive his car fast."
Chapman offered the following quote, in Spanish, during spring training:
"The most difficult part has been being by myself here," he said. "And when things havenât gone well on the field, not having somebody like your father or your mother that can talk to you and give you some advice."
