Lawrence Co. 4 West Carter 3
#1
Lawrence Co. the number 6 team in the 15th defeats West Carter the 13th ranked team in the 16th. A bit of oddity in this one in that the two met earlier in the season with an identical score of 4-3 with Lawrence on top in both at home. Coach Feltner takes his Dawgs to Allen Central in an add on game that could be dubbed the 500 game. A victory will put the Dawgs dead- even going into District play. Good luck to the Lawrence Players and Fans as they end the regular season.

a lot of new faces in the lineup. got off work in time to watch this game. i believe lchs had three 8th graders in the lineup and played a fourth as a pinch hitter. also a ninth grader started in right field (he usually just pitches). those young guys played hard and really injected some enthusiasm in the team it appeared. looked like lchs played as a team for the first time all year from what i have seen. coaches and players slapping high fives and and smiling. that was the best part of last night.

Excellent alum. I am glad to hear that. Iam sure that a lot of things need to change in the program. Always thought the kids looked pretty good. You sould agree on that. Especially if they keep their heads in,elbow up and eye on the ball.

Missed this game but have been to several this season. Most of the ones I attended, they have always played like a team, in my opinion. I have seen many high fives throughout this season. I have also seen them on a few bad days, when they looked as if they have given up. They are a young team & they are learning. They are all very talented & I look forward to seeing them grow together as a team.

In very recent years.. Lawrence Co would not even let an 8th grader or a Freshman sit on the Varsity bench... Due to the exit of so many very good players this season has been a struggle. I know all these young men and have attended about 90% of the games, they are trying their best and hopefully will have a better future. I am sure this season has been hard for Coach Feltner to swallow.. but with his coaching knowledge and the determination of these very young players.. they have a bright future. Is Cavins still living in West Virginia and if so could this place possible consequences on playoff games? I know just a few weeks ago he still lived in Fort Gay.

huh??? Could it be that because beginning in about 2006 their bench was so full of freshmen, eight graders, and a 7th grader that there was no room on the bench for any more until they all graduated?.....

87 you bring some interesting issues, especially that Lawrence county has a group of fine but very young players to the table. They are very capable and certainly have the capacity to be successful. Before closing let me extend a long overdue apology. I had been hoping that you would post to allow this opportunity.

i been going over lawrence county records for last year senior class
it's been pretty dominating the last 4 years
16 region won 20 lost 8
15 region won 53 lost 6 1 tie
3 state tournament
losing so many players last year you know it was going to be
a rebuilding year but with coach feltner they will compete
if they can cut down with the errors and get the timing hits
who knows they could make another run with the region weak
as it is

here you go again trying to start crap. the kid you are talking about has moved and moved back in the fall. further the khsaa has ruled him eligible. there is nothing that can be done. teams can complain or protest all they want. it's over. as for the season being a struggle i don't see it. i looked at their schedule and they finished 17-17 to my knowledge. a year after losing a group of seniors that were pretty dominate for 4 years. also look at the one run losses they have had. i looked at the scoreboard and there are between 5-10 of those. if they pull those out, they win 20+ again. that's a struggle?

the past 4-6 years there wasn't enough room on the bench for middle schoolers on varsity because there were so many really good upper classman that were playing. i watched a couple of middle school games this year and can say that there will be a youth movement next year or the year after. the future is very bright if people will come together and not try to start crap, for example talking about a player's living status. :eyeroll:

Vector certainly appreciate your perspective and it is a nice youth group with fantastic parents. Now as to runs please look at your stat sheet again. I dont pretend to know how you do this, but somebody must find a way to manifacture some runs. Lawrence County is the 12 team in the 15th in runs scored. That puts you above Phelps,South Floyd, and Pike Central. The most games any of those teams have played isSouth Floyed with 23,Lawrence has played I believe 34. Sorry for the kids, but a run?
