The Hopkinsville girls basketball team had its season come to an end Friday night in a 67-30 loss against Marion County during the KHSAA Girl’s State Basketball Tournament.
Christy Soldo led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 10 points.
Hopkinsville set the school record for wins in a season, in addition to earning its first regional title in school history.

MARION COUNTY 67, HOPKINSVILLE 30: Hot-shooting Marion County ripped Hoptown 40-17 in the second half to win in a rout. Makayla Epps and Patrice Tonge had 18 points apiece, and Bre Elder added 12. Kyvin Goodin-Rogers had 6 points and 12 rebounds. Marion County hit 26 of 48 (54%) from the field. Hopkinsville was only 11-for-54 (20%). The Tigers’ Christy Soldo had 10 points.

That's 2 Ouches today. I was hoping the Lady Indians would have won the State Title, now I have to go with Magoffin. If they don't win it then I hope Dunbar wins it

The Lady Knights (33-4) finished the first half on a 10-0 run, and the rout was on from there. They led by as many as 40 points, doubling Hopkinsville's score with more than seven minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Hopkinsville (32-5) went scoreless for the fourth quarter's opening six minutes and shot 11-for-54 (20.4 percent) for the game — no match for Marion County's 26-for-48 (54.2 percent) clip.

The Lady Knights are riding a 14-game winning streak into their semifinal matchup Saturday, when a win would give Marion County a shot at winning its first state title.
