Glad the Cats got the win last night, Vandy is a tough place to play and histrionically a bad place for Kentucky to go and leave with a win. I can't wait for the NCAA tournament.

Incredible win for the Cats!! They are absolutely taking all of the right strides towards becoming that championship type team. A game like this was the perfect storm for these young players to succumb to big time pressure, to look at those lights, to be overwhelmed by such a big game, and take a loss in a situation that would not effect too much. They came out and played hard, got a solid lead. Then a change of pace caused a very stagnate offense in the second half. However, they cracked the code of the zone and began to get a little more established down the stretch. Grind it out, make the stops, and get the W. I love it! Put a little stop on the little Memorial Magic.
Terrence Jones, absolutely was a beast in the first half, flying to the ball on the weak side, getting good tough rebounds. His offense was vicious, accounting for most of our interior presence in the first half. In the second half, Jones was very quite after the change of the defensive scheme. The zone took away a lot of Jones game but overall he had a great game.
Anthony Davis, was well... Anthony Davis. He was a little quite in the first half from an offensive standpoint but the most valuable thing is the way that his presence effects the game and shifts the opposing team's offensive flow! I think he had 3 blocks in the first half with two points to go along. In the second he got his dunks, he kept the same consistent defense, and was basically the same player that we have came to expect. Brow down.
Marquis Teague, had his best game at the head of the UK offense. He was in control, he did not seem rattled at any point and in the first half he was one of the main scoring options as he continued to drive and penetrate towards the basket. He is such a good slasher and if he makes it to the basketball he is fearless going up with it. The only thing I have to say about Teague's game, was his outside shot selection. He is a great penetration/slasher and does not need to take as many outside shots for us to be successful.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, had one of his few off nights. BUT he still was valuable in the game for his defensive presence. Offense was struggle, as he missed the short shots and the slashing drives. He was solid as a rock on the line at the end of the game during a one-and-one which pushed the lead a little. Could not have gotten through the Miller foul trouble without him.
Darius Miller, had a little bit of a rough game due in part to the foul trouble. But when he stayed in the game for a significant amount of time, he was a MAJOR part of the win. His solid leadership and clutch shooting allowed for the win to happen. The three pointer to put us back up and then the finish down on the baseline (it was a shot clock violation), were critical points in the game. It seemed that he was in the game with 4 fouls for freakin' forever!!
Doron Lamb, was his normal self hitting mid-range shots and driving through the lane. The simple floater has slowly became just as much of a signature shot as his perfect three pointer. I am so confident every time the ball leaves his hands. His scoring prowess is incredible and it was one of the biggest reasons for the first half lead.
Kyle Witjer, came in gave the minutes he needed for the foul-crazy Darius Miller. He is not exactly the most polished defense player but his has made big strides towards becoming that consistent player off the bench that will not cause a negative effect on one end or the other.
Great game by the cats and I am going to sit here and enjoy being #1 for the next two weeks!
