Marion County used a five three-pointers in a three-minute stretch of the third quarter to upend home-standing Taylor County 67-51 and wrap up the No. 1-seed in the 20th District Boys’ Tournament later this month at TCHS.

With the game tied at 29-29 early in the second half, the Knights used two Alex Smith treys and three more by John Southall to stretch their lead to double digits.
Southall finished with a game-high 27 points and added a conventional three-point play and the Cards got no closer than nine.

Caleb Wigginton scored 12 of his team-high 18 points in the second half for TC while Trae Wells had nine of his 15 in the final two frames.
