I have to say, the officiating was HORRIBLE!!!
I don't know if Dodo paid them off, or if they where scared or what
it was...But Obvious calls changed to go Virgie's way, Refs saying I'm sorry to him and then change the call to go Virgie's way, and then saying that timeouts where called and then the ref say I'm not crazy he called one...What was the deal...

I won't take anything away from the kids on either side...They played good games from both sides...Though I thought Millard out played them.

My opinion, have refs come in from a different county and let them ref games, with no ties with any school that way all games will be called fair...Oh well good luck to both teams in the county tournament.

I have no ties to either school. I was not at the game. I am not saying the officiating was or was not horrible. With that said, you cannot make me believe that Coach Rowe would ever cheat a kid or group of kids. Coach Rowe has too much integrity to do that.

First of all it was a bad call game, but what about when the Millard player clearly through the ball out of bound and actually landed in Doe Doe hands ., it should have been Virgie ball , and the gave it to Millard or what about when Millard hit the jump shot 2 feet inside the 3 point line and the call it a 3. For you to say that Coach Rowe paid the official off is just plain stupid. Doe Doe is a class act. Good Job to Millard for playing a hard fought game.

Just to clarify something, the refs were paid what they were always paid. One ref graduated from Millard and lives in Millard. Millard outplayed Virgie the entire first half and were up 2 at the half. Virgie played better the 2nd half and played smarter down the stretch. The refs were not scared because they T'd Coach Rowe up for arguing two straight calls that shelbyvalley02 mentioned. The timeout was called by the assistant coach which was smart on his part and saved a possession for Virgie. Good Luck to Millard in the tournament

why is it Millard always claim they get cheated? i've seen them get beat 50 and seen them get beat 1 and the officials always cheated... but Congrats Virgie...

the sad part is the parents of the Millard team can get pretty embarrassing... if you don't like the officials... go to Khsaa.org... fill out a application... pass the test... buy a uniform and whistle and become a official...

I am not blaming Doe Doe, if you read below I said "I Dont Know"
I am not blaming anyone person or school for that reason. I can not prove that a ref got paid extra, or if they was scared of him...If you was at the game, you could tell that the refs where very bad...Calls seemed to fall more Virgies way than Millards, but we was at Virgie, so you expect home team to get more calls than away...But my complaint is the reffing...there is only a few games this year I have witnessed good reffing...and I don't claim Millard got cheated every game also, if your team gets beat because it was a better team, than that is one thing, but if the refs beat you that is another. I have nothing against the school, the coach, or the kids of Virgie. I would just like to see better reffing from this region. All I ask for...

Pikevilleout, you may not have blamed Coach Rowe but you made accusations toward him which is very low on your part. The refs did as good of a job as any I have seen this year. They were calling it on both ends. Virgie had one foul out and 3 other starters with 4 each. I think Millard had one with 4 fouls and no one foul out.

Sounds like a very competitive game, I wish I could have been there. Look for both of these teams to make some noise in the county. I also look for Belfry and Mullins to be a tough draw!

Thanks Coach. I agree both teams played very hard and neither would back down. Just like players miss shots,refs miss calls. We as coaches also make mistakes, its just part of the game and what makes it fun. Virgie/Millard have had 3 great games this year. Good luck in the tournament Coach.:Thumbs:

The calls was horrible I personally saw Coach Rowe from Virgie shove hot dogs in the bald headed big Refs pocket after the game.
