I would say the Lakers need to work with what they have.

I think for their halfcourt offense to work the way they want it they need to get the ball to Pau at the high post and go from there. They have plenty of options to score with and Pau can set them up as good as anyone. Kobe went into best mode there at the end but it was simply too late. They shaved the lead from 23 to 11 in about 2 minutes and change.

The Lakers' big three isn't the problem. It's the role players who can't seem to give them any production. The Lakers don't have another solid scorer outside of Bynum, Gasol, or Bryant. As a unit, the rest of the team must step up if the Lakers want to contend.

Lakers don't need to make any big moves. But getting a PG is a must(just a solid one). I love Fisher, he's one of my all time favorite players, but he can no longer play at a championship level. He's a defensive liability and shooting percentage is way down.
And some offensive firepower off the bench please.

I do think LA will make some kind of move during the season. Whether it's to make a push at Howard or to get a PG in there, they will try to do something. I like Derek Fisher, but it's evident that he has lost a lot of his quickness that he had at PG. I wouldn't be opposed to keeping him out during the final two minutes of a game though if I were the lakers. He still pulls out the big clutch play when needed.

#1 ) Ron Artest was nowhere near an All-Star when they picked him up and he was a FA anyway.
#2) The Grizzlies came to the Lakers about Pau because they were looking to rebuild and wanted Marc Gasol.
