Mayfield RB/LB Jonathan Jackson who is a Junior is close to landing offers from Tennessee and Louisville, he gets letters daily from the two schools. Penn State, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss are also showing high interest in him.

He is special and we are lucky to have a kid of his caliber. Has the test scores and grades to play in college as well. Would be nice to see him get a scolly to a big time college

Would love for the kid to be a Cardinal, a UofL Cardinal I guess he's already a Mayfield Cardinal lol. What is the kids size the only thing that worries me about him playing LB at that level is he seemed a bit small around 190 lbs but I haven't seen him in person so I don't.

Mr Jackson as he is affectinately known in Mayfield at this point goes about 205-210 at my best guess he is a true 5-10-5'11 in my opinion he has a year left in high school, then lets say he is redshirted his frosh year of college by the time 2014 season rolls around(hopefully at U of L) he should beef up to around oh 230-240 and he maintains his quickness to the ball the only thing that could be a factor is his height. Since we on height and weight lets also talk about another Jr. on Mayfield's squad is Labront Scott, I think U of L also has an interest in him he is a defensive end right now he is about 6'3-6'4 220 and hard to handle as well he is #5 check him out on some of the clips now he could put on another 25 -30 pounds between now and then he will be a good college player as well and they both are great in the classroom.

I think both are very good players but I believe lower level college 1A teams. Could fit in FCS schools and would be impact players NAIA schools. Good luck to both next year.

Jackson racked up 156 tackles on the year and 21 Rushing TDs, those are some nice stats

Many experts and fans have lauded the high school football Class of 2013 in Kentucky as one of the best in recent years.
And now the coaches agree.
With 152 coaches voting for The Courier-Journalâs All-State team, six juniors made the first team, including the two top vote-getters.
Trinityâs James Quick and Franklin Countyâs Ryan Timmons tied for the top spot with 47 votes, two ahead of Boyle County linebacker Zach Hester. ESPN.com named Quick a first-team All-American as a wide receiver for the Shamrocks, while Timmons had more than 2,500 all-purpose yards for the Flyers.
Mayfield junior Jonathan Jackson was fourth in the voting, followed by record-setting running backs Anthony Wales of Central and J.J. Jude of Johnson Central

Someone on here said he was hurt. Did he have surgery yet?
12-31-2011, 09:31 PM
Jackson played on a torn meniscus in championship game Scott played on a bad hamstring pull, to the best of my knowledge I do not think surgery was needed on either player, I do notice that I have not seen in the boxscores where they are playing basketball yet, I do not keep up with basketball like I do football its just my observation.
