DOSS
Coach: K. C. Goodin (second year).
Last season: 9-17, lost to Iroquois 67-47 in 22nd District semifinal.
Player to watch: G Stephon Bryant (6-2, Sr., 15 ppg., 6 rpg., 5 apg.). âIn my mind, Stephon is very under-rated and has a bright future,ââ Goodin said. âHe really improved over the summer playing for the KYA All-Stars. He has the potential to play at a low-major school in college.ââ
Other top players: F Rex White (6-3, Sr., 12 ppg., 5 rpg.); F-G Dawayne Lawson (6-2, Sr., 10 ppg.); F Terry Smith (6-3, Sr., 8 ppg., 4 rpg.); C Victor Stewart (6-4, Sr.); F-C Dayzon Dukes (6-4, So., 6 ppg., 6 rpg.); F Montrell Little (6-3, So.).
Outlook: The Dragons open a tough schedule by playing North Hardin and PRP in their first two games. The teamâs strength is senior leadership, plus Dukes and Little heading a good sophomore group. âIf we play together, we can play with anybody,ââ Goodin said. âWe want to put the tradition back into Doss basketball.ââ
