PLEASURE RIDGE PARK
Coach: Dale Mabrey (31st year)
Last season: 21-9, lost to Bullitt East 81-58 in Sixth Region final.
Player to watch: F-G Max Clemons (6-4, Sr., 12.6 ppg., 7.2 rpg., 5.6 apg., 25 blocks). âMax is a special player,ââ Mabrey said. âItâs been a long time since we have had a kid as college-ready as he is. I feel he is easily one of the stateâs top five players. I think Bellarmine got a steal in him.ââ
Other top players: G LaMontray Harris (6-6. So., 3.7 ppg., 3.8 rpg.); G Cortez Macklin (6-2, Sr., 10 ppg., 3.8 rpg.); PG Antonio McDaniels (5-10, So., 5.6 ppg., 2.7 apg.); F-G Jeril Taylor (6-4, Sr., 10.6 ppg., 5.2 rpg.); PG Taywan Taylor (5-10, Jr., 4.3 ppg.); F Spencer Sumpter (6-2, Jr., 3.4 ppg., 3.4 rpg.); F Jovonte Lavender (6-2, Jr.l, 1.4 ppg.).
Outlook: Clemons, Jeril Taylor and Macklin return as starters, and will be joined by Harris and McDaniels. Harris has grown since last season and his skill level has improved. The Panthers should be deep with 13 players back from last season. âThis is without question the most kids we have return for a season,ââ Mabrey said. âWe feel we will have an advantage early.ââ

PRP, which returns all but two players, including Bellarmine University signee Max Clemons, was a close third in the voting, with J’town fourth and 2010 regional titlist Butler fifth.
Willis, who is being recruited by Louisville, Purdue and Kentucky among others, was the coaches’ choice as the region’s best player, with McKay a close second. J’town’s 6-3 senior guard Desmond Dorsey was rated third, the 6-4 Clemons fourth and Butler senior guard Jalen Palm fifth. Palm went by Jalen Walen the last three seasons.
