I can't recall a large-school program like Dunbar ever going through this much turnover so ceaselessly. Gotta be tough on the kids.

What is the story on the LaRue County job? Plus and minuses about the job...I heard a long time ago it was Josh Jaggars...did he decide to not take it?

That's absolutely ridiculous to post things that are completely untrue. Just because someone may have said that he said it for whatever reason they made this crap up is insane. I wish I could have played for a coach that was as knowledgable and motivating as him. Secondly if you look at the non-district schedule before he got there you don't see very many heavy weights unless you consider Shelby Valley of a few years ago, Evangual Christian, and East Ridge powerhouse teams. Also when was the last time Rockcastle was dominant? Hmm the 90s went away a long time ago people. Heck by some of your reasoning no kid should ever go to Johnson central because paintsville is the place to go. It makes me sick to read this fabricated, malicious b.s. that some people post. Grow up. Just because you don't like some things about him or that your guy didn't get the job or because he isn't from Letcher county is no reason to post blatant lies. Ask any coach in the state of Kentucky what they think of him and you'll get the same answer. A great guy and a great coach. Period.

Well my son played for him for two years at powell and i never saw any activity from him like whats been described here and yes we had one loosing season and one winning season so i think i saw the worst and the best. I know my son idolizes him!

Dunbar's situation is the administration. They do not support football there.

Mitchell has been there for 40 years and aint goin anywhere.
He owns that school, and it may be there greatest downfall.
Mitchell had two good teams, one in 2003, where they went like 12-2 i think only losing to Whitley and Beechwood in the semi state, and then in 2005 where he had more talent than ever before and still failed to get out of the region.

I give it a couple of more years, but make no mistake, Mitchell will leave when he wants to, not when anyone else does.
For whoever said that might be a good spot, your crazy.
That might be one of the roughest places to be in the entire state. A really low attendance rate makes me surprised there even able to field a football team some years. And in others, you have a school that clearly puts academics on the backburner and is one of the worst academic schools in the state. Put that together with the fact that your about 4 miles away from Corbin high school, which will get all of the athletes in the city and in a county with Knox Central, which has a pretty solid program now, that alone would make me not want the job.

Man last year was a record of some sort with like 41 jobs opening up, we already have 10 confirmed and it is not even December yet. Will we see as many open up as last year?
