87 on their roster, 9-12, I believe is what it says in the program and on the KHSAA site. Either way, they definately have things rolling in their favor in Yellowjacket land.

Not to mention they dumped central in a pretty weak district. Does it look like anybody in central"s new district can even compete?

Lots of good points brought up by other posters so far. I would say that Belfry is the favorite from the East, but will have to play very good to return to this hypothetical matchup. Lots of good teams will challenge.
To beat Central, Belfry would have to play a GREAT game. They will have to get as much speed as humanily possible on the field of defense. But speed alone will not be sufficient as Central slso has excellent size.
Belfry will need to get great play from the front 5. ALL of those guys will need to play excellent football all season. The LB's will need to improve dramatically as well! Everyone needs to get better folks! Now is the time to work!
On offense, has the talented soph TBs put on 5 lbs of good muscle yet? They will have needed to do so to be on path. I look forward to seeing the team Belfry puts on the field. Should be a lot of talent out there. But, they will need a magical year IMO to beat Central, who also returns a ton of talent.

sorry but belfry runs cover three every play or cover four

It's been the ratio for years now , they have magnet programs for , business , law, medicine, veterinarian , & a lot of other programs that are female friendly, that's what makes a lot of girls choose central, furthermore , with centrals admission standards it's easier for central to accept girls(who tend to do better than boys academically in middle school).if a boy applies to central he is probably wants to play football.

I was there in Bowling Green for the title games that Saturday and paid close attention to the Central vs. Belfry game until about halftime..it was 27-0 at half I believe, and pretty much a done deal by the half. I have great respect for Belfry's coach Haywood and his success at Belfry, but there was just nothing he could do to stop Central's Speed/Talent. The only hope for Belfry wouldve been if somehow Pond Creek Nation called up Reggie Bush, Devin Hester, and Michael Vick to put on Pirates jerseys and play the 3rd and 4th quarters. With that being said, I also gained a great respect for Central's Coach Scroggins bc if you were at the game, it was obvious Scroggins couldve had his boys put up 60-70 on Belfry. It was also a true show of class of Scroggins to pull his starters early. Wales ended up with 2,994 yards on the season, only 6 yrds away from 3,000, and Scroggins would not give the ball to Wales again in attempt to break the 3,000 yrd mark, another show of respect and class by Scroggins and Staff to the game of football and Belfry. I reviewed the roster in the program at the game, and it appears as though Central only graduates 8-9 seniors I believe, which made me VERY thankful that my hometown team isn't in class 3A. A scary fact for all 3A teams. We could all witness a serious Central 3A Dynasty in the coming years, but who knows, that's why they play the game! Best of luck to Central, Belfry, Scroggins, and Haywood in 2011..both are Top-Notch football programs, both are Top-Notch head football coaches.
