We went to this game and it was a great game. Powell jumped out to 7-2 lead and Lee came back to take a 12-9 lead and Powell's point gaurd hit a NBA 3 at the buzzer to tie it. The game went back and fourth in the second quarter with Powell leading by three at the half. Powell came out of the locker room and jumped to a nice lead and lead by as many as 11 or 12. They closed the third quarter out with a ten point lead. Lee made a nice run in the fourth quarter to tie the game but Powell just made great plays down the stretch. I guess this means the 56th district is up for grabs with Powell in front.

WOW!!!!!

Great game by both teams tonight Powell just played like they were not going to lose. Their point guard Creech kept his team together and worked out of being pressured to be the leading scorer for both teams with 20 points. Powells great forward players Conner and Parks kept Pittman to 12 points for the game and kept him flusted most of the time unable to make go plays. Reed scored 13 for the pirates with 2 three's. Marcum Had 8 with 2 three's. Pelfrey who did not score in the first half came back strong in the second with 15. Creech and Pelfrey scored 15 each in the second half making 30 of their 39 points scored in the second.

I think back to the top ten for the region where they had Creech as 8th and Pittman for 10th. I guess they new what they were talking about.:notworthy

i so agree. this was a great game and probably a prelude to the district championship title game. i also think your right on with the fact one of the major keys to powells win was their ability to keep pittman in ck. how many times does a player get a standing ovation when they foul out with only 3 points? [ conner did]. i also think pelfreys 2nd half performance was amazing and caught lee co a little off guard. both of these teams have great players and cant wait to see them match up again.

This was a good game to watch, no matter who you was cheering for. Powell County had something to prove tonight and they did. And dont count lee county out just yet, both teams are great teams and have great players. This years district tournament will be very exciting games to watch. So proud of the Pirates!!!

I believe Lee Co. has the most talent in the region 1 thru 8 but they have to get more from there shooters teams will continue to pack it in on Pittman and make Lee beat them from the outside,i believe if there outside shooting comes alive they can go along way.

i dont know if they have the most? but i do agree they do have a lot. i know pitmman gets most of the attention and he does deserve a lot. but lee has a lot more talent than just him and i dont feel they get the recognition they deserve.

Lee county has a decent team. They have a lot of players that can shoot the ball well if they can get more open shots. Once Pittman can establish an inside presence early in the game, that will open up the perimeter for shooters as gabbard, marshall, baker, and mays. If they can improve their help defense, which they need to alot, they will be tough as the season progresses.

I know Pittman doesn't have much weight to throw around down low but, I think he needs to try and get more physical down low when he has the ball. If he could get more physical, I think he will make more shots in the paint which as stated will open up the perimeter more quickly. I haven't been to many games this year but from the few I have been to it seems like Coach Wright needs to setup some plays that has Pittman hitting the open man when he gets double-teamed down low, I think that would help out a lot too. I think if Lee Co can do this, communicate more on defense, and do what theflash mentioned they will be in good shape come tournament time.
