Is Napier not playing for Lafayette this year?

Yes, he's playing, scored 12 in their opening game loss to Bryan Station a few days ago according to the Herald Leader box score.

In this Scott Co. game he was announced as a starter, and a coach ran over to the announcer to make a change and substitute another name. Don't know what he looks like, but he mighta been the kid in a gray sweatshirt and street clothes standing on the court for the opening announcements and then sitting on the bench. Perhaps injured?
