This game was MUCH closer. Phelps only had a 2 point lead with just under 4 minutes to go. Phelps was up with 3 minutes to go when Pikeville got a steal and then was called for a charge by Mike Hall. He blew it. It was a block all the way. In the 4th quarter Hall was more interested in talking/flirting with the WYMT camara lady or talking to Betsy Layne's coach Akers and to Sheldon Clark's coach Harmon. He didn't see half the stuff going on on the court. Hall IS the worst official in the 15th region. It would have been nice if someone with authority with the officials, would have been there to see that last night.

Pikeville should have won this game. Martell was still out due to an ankle injury and Cecil was out due to sickness. Davis just 2 early fouls in the 1st and 1 in the 2nd. Pikeville had 8th graders playing on there team and had no height, Maynard works her butt off down low and does a pretty good job at rebounding over tob of the bigger girls. Give these girls some time. They will be good, next year and the year after with alot of young players stepping up and the Sanders girl getting released to play with them. This will be the team to beat in the 07-08 year, wait and see.
