I've never placed a lot of faith in these ratings. All the #1's look about right to me but Lawrence County ahead of Boyle is rather laughable when you look at the 2 schedules.

Bell fan here so I'm glad we're getting the love but until Boyle is knocked out they should be #1 in 4A. That's just the way it is. They're the defending state champs....

Your Rebs aren't winning by enough...not LC's fault that they score faster and more efficiently to impress the computers....

I know lex. cath. is down this year but I have a hard time believing that they are the 14th best team in 4A, I would say they are still up around top 5 or 6.

These rankings get much more accurate later in the year and are usually a pretty good indicator late in the year. They are poor early because of a lack of data

My problems with Lit go back to personal experience in the 70's. One season we finished 9-1. But Lit had us behind 5 teams we beat. Made no sense or logic at when you have a better record than those 5 teams and have defeated those 5 in head-to-head but were "ranked by a computer" behind those 5. (That was at the end of the year btw).
#15
I have never really understood how these ratings work. Back years ago, we were ranked number 1 in lit ratings but hadn't done anything to deserve it. Now I watch teams that are definitely top tier teams in the state and have low rankings. It just never makes any sense.
#16
The lit ratings are a joke.
#17
The Lit Ratings are based purely on points scored and allowed. Cantrell's Ratings are a little more accurate.
#18
i dont like cantrell ratings either. while we always talk about human bias in polls, computers only use stats and their information is limited.
