Just checking to see which location was preferred by most football fans that attend the State Championships.

I think in Bowling Green its better for High School football. The staduim is smaller so it appears to be a packed house. In years passed the Regional Championship and the semi state were better because more fans seemed to be there. Papa Johns is such a large staduim that with 10K ppl in their it seems empty.
I was At WKU for the Boyle Co. Lone Oak title game last year and it was a great enviroment for a high school football game.

I agree. I was there with some very good friends and watched all six games. We were up on the balcony and the view was much better than being a mile away @ Papa Johns. The only problem for teams the other side of Central KY is the trip is so long. I live in Mount Sterling and it took three hours to get there from where I live. If UK ever changed their mind and let KHSAA have it there... that would be better for pretty much everyone (almost dead center of the state).

Either one, both are just over an hour away. To be serious, both are easy to get to and I like that BG is smaller and the atmosphere is better, or so it seems from reading posts about it on here.

I'd rather see it at EKU more than any other venue.
Yeah, WKUs new stadium is nice and Bowling Green is a large enough city to accomidate everyone, but Richmond is a decent sized city as well and it's like 10-15 miles south of Lexington. Plus RK stadium is just the right size for a state championship game. Also, the stadium is just seconds off the interstate.
Since I have to choose between Louisville and Bowling Green, I'll take Bowling Green.

I liked Western, seemed to be a much better atmosphere to watch a state championship game than any games that have been in Louisville recently (with the exception of 2002 Male-Trinity, WOW). But when I was in BG I was watching Somerset play in the state finals, they were never there when it was at Papa John's so that could have to do with why I liked it so much.
Bowling Green is pretty convenient for most of the state, but whenever Belfry, P'burg, Breathitt, SC, Bell, or really any team from East of 75 makes it to state again they are going to be looking at a LONG haul over. Then again most fans from the teams I mentioned will go to games if they are on the moon.

WKU is more centrally located. Some schools would have to take a really long drive to get to EKU:
300 miles from Mayfield
281 miles from Paducah
249 miles from Fort Campbell
BG is 215 miles from Fort Thomas
BG is 110 miles from Somerset
BG is 206 miles from Fort Mitchell
