who is the top 5 qb's next season in the mountains ?

Daniel Pugh will be my #1 qb 2nd is probely Bobby hughes ! but idk every qb in the mountains !

From what I know of coming back there are a bunch of young QBs that are probably the best "true" QBs. By that, I mean pocket passers who play in a passing system. Clint Cashen of Corbin, Ricky Bowling of South Laurel, & the Lewis kid from Clay Co. are probably the Top 3. Daniel Pugh of Paintsville would probably be considered the top dual-threat QB.
Those are really the only 4 guys I am familiar with at this point.

1. Pugh (Paintsville) -- Has all the QB tools: smart, tough, strong, fast, quick, leader. Great running QB (would be a great RB if that's what he played). Good enough passer to make you honor it. If he was in a system that had players in positions that allowed him to do BOTH (like WVU's "Spread Option" type attack), he'd be phenomenal.
2. Bowling (S. Laurel) -- Great accuracy; perfect for the kind of offense they run. Probably doesn't have ALL the tools to be a great college QB (height, deep ball arm, etc.), but has the years to develop those things maybe.
3. Cashen (Corbin) -- Good, but a "pure pocket passer" and if you're going to be one of those at the TOP level, you'd better be 6'3 or better. Not sure what his actual height is, but he doesn't LOOK that tall to me on the field.
4. Deaton (Somerset) -- Competitor. Needs a little more height or he'd be a recruitable kid at a 1AA school. Will see how good his numbers are without a 6'4 speedster next year. Got a lot of his yardage stats off deep balls to the tall kid and quick screens to the short, quick kid. But at times showed he could sit in the pocket and throw the hook/curl too.
5. Mayo (Pikeville) -- Another competitor. Read elsewhere where he's getting BIG (6'2ish, 200ish). Looked more like a Fullback playing running back at times last year. Needs to work on accuracy passing, but didn't seem to make many mental mistakes. With more game reps to get used to the position and improvement in speed, could be a threat the way that offense system can highlight a QB (similar to offense of Urban Meyer at Utah/Florida).
Hughes -- WAY down the list.
Ratliff -- system he's in won't showcase his strengths enough.
Lewis -- how did he perform against the BETTER teams they played. I think jury's still out.

Nick Scalf from lynn camp is a pretty good QB. he had pretty good stats. 32-50 with 871 yards, 10 td's.
