Former Betsy Layne High School Head Football Coach Jackie Bush dies at age 33. Coach Bush also spent time on the Prestonsburg High School Staff.

Man....
Coach Bush was at ER one of the years I was there...this sucks. I remembering him saying he had coached at Pburg but I don't remember him saying anything about Betsy Layne...

He also coached at Lewis County for a year in 06...he will be missed.

I wasn't aware of that. He must have helped Bubba out for a year. He was head coach at BLHS in 2003. There is a picture from that season and his obituary on Hall Funeral Home's website (Martin, Ky). He was a good man.

Yeah, he's the same Coach Bush. He's the best coach I've ever had, he taught me more about life and football in general than all other coaches combined.
I remember one time he walked in on us in the locker room messing around wrestling with each other before a JV game against Prestonsburg...I thought he was going to laugh at us, but he started screamin' and went crazy, lol. He wanted us to beat Pburg bad, because that's where he had came to ER from. Our JV team dominated that year, and it was ALL because of him.
He was one of the first coaches I had ever had to really instill discipline in his players, and after that I grew up alot.
He'll be missed.
