Just heard through a good source the 6'4 QB will be showcasing his skills this weekend at the University of Alabama Elite 11 QB Camp. I hear that several D1 schools have inquired about this kid.

if i remember correctly, we went up there last year and all they did was ran the ball....should get a chance to see him in September as Rowan County Comes To Irvine

When I watched him against greenup I never thought he was D-1 material. As I recall he threw 2 int's.

I've not seen this kid play on the gridiron but on the court he is a dead-eye ****. He beat us in overtime this past basketball season at the Monticello Banking Company Holiday Classic at Wayne County High School.

You can't judge a kid solely on one game! I think he has a tremendous amount of potential. People judge qb's by their passing yardage and there is much more to the position than that IMO.

Today D-1 schools are all about passing. So I think you can judge a qb on their passing ability. IMO

lol. You're delusional. He dropped 23 and 15 at an AAU tournament this past weekend at the KBA; you may be forgetting he's a 16 year old sophomore that gave one of the best juniors in the state (Knipp) 35 the only time they played last year. Had a great summer with Charlotte's Court so far. You might need to phone a friend, cause you don't have a clue.

What D1 basketball schools are calling? Just curious?

Passing yardage and ability are two different things. D1 coaches don't really care that Johnny from a big 6A school threw for 500 yards against a 1A or 2A school. They want to see Johnny throw the 20 yard out route with velocity, accuracy and consistency at their one day camp. Perhaps the misleading numbers could get you noticed, but it won't get you through the door.

That was my point. My school, Fleming County, has had some Qb's put up impressive passing yardage stats (3000+ per season), but that does not mean they are D 1 kids. It is more about the intangibles that you mentioned than pure stats.

Wing, will be at UK JR day on Sunday. If they offer it will be HUGE for NE KY football!!! They might get him on that 1st offer. I hear he likes UK a lot.

Didn't say anything about D1 basketball schools calling yet; I was referring to football. However I know that he is on Butler's radar as a kid to watch the next 2 years. His best is ahead of him in both sports.

Looks like Wing is on the Kentucky football radar as well. Impressive list of schools that are interested. He must have good grades to be looking at Purdue and Northwestern. Amazing that a kid Rowan County has that type of talent, considering where that program was three years ago. It would be awesome if UK got a kid from NE KY. :Thumbs:

Football prospect '12: Adam Wing
This is a big summer for Rowan County junior-to-be Adam Wing.
The 6-foot-4, 195-pound Wing is considered one of the top football prospects statewide in the Class of 2012 and is making the rounds at camps.
"I am going to a lot of camps to try and get exposure," Wing said. "This is the summer that puts you on the map. It's exciting for me, coming from a small town. So far, it's been great."
Wing started defense as a freshman at Rowan County and as a sophomore completed 61 of 102 passes for 1,002 yards and 10 touchdowns and ran for 531 yards and eight more TDs.
He also plays free safety on defense and is one of the top basketball players in the 16th Region.
"I think I am at my best (in football) when things are not going good and I have to revert back to my fundamentals to try and make a play," Wing said. "I'm good on my feet."
Wing made a good showing at the Elite 11 Camp in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and has been to junior days at Northwestern, Kentucky, Purdue and Eastern Kentucky.
"It's been a lot of fun so far," Wing said.
Rowan County opens the season on Aug. 20 at Morgan County.
