Collinsworth is a better athlete, has more size and is the better back.
But.........
MacShara plays with heart that can't be measured. He is the type of kid you want on your team and will be a winner. He reminds me a lot of Shawn Robbins from Bell a few years ago. He just does not have the speed of Robbins. But they are very similar players in stature and refuse to loose mentality.

MacShara was just as good as Robbins and just as Fast.

High School: I'd rather have MacShara.
College: Collinsworth will probably have a better career.

I agree 100%
For High School MacShara was the better player, but College IMO Collinsworth will make the better player.
I'd be curious to see what the folks from Johnson Central has to say. They did see both head to head last year.

Maybe I am mistaken, but didnt McShara run a 4.7 40 and didn't Robbins run a 4.5?

Glad you said that. No one from Bell wanted to point that out because they knew what would follow. But both of them were great backs.

the only reason i did this was just that macshara was in the top 5 rusher in the nation but collinsworth is an all american and if boyle was to play highlands who would do better and collinsworth is injury free

Understood. But even if they were to play, the match up wouldn't necessarily be an accurate indicator of who was better. Let's assume for discussion purposes that Highlands has the better O line and better Defense. Very possible that Collinsworth would have the more impressive performance, but not be the better back. Did MacShara play both ways? Most games Collinsworth did not. Could be another unfair advantage in favor of Collinsworth. There are way too many variables in the game of football to use a match up of players (particularly running backs) to determine which one is better in my opinion.
College recruiters aren't always right, but if they are wrong too often they don't last too long in the business. Brian Kelley has been around the game of football pretty long and been very successful at it. He either thinks Collinsworth can play at ND or just couldn't get any one better interested in coming to ND. I think it's the former, but we'll know for sure over the next several years. By the way, the little I saw of MacShara impressed me.
