If Pburg got 19 posseions in a quarter how did they get the ball.....SF turnovers???
How many chances did SF have to score in that quarter to preserve the lead? They had a 6 point lead with 4:00 minutes left in regulation. Look in the mirror the mirror guy thats who you have to blame for this loss.

When one team (PHS) is playing man-to-man and pressing full court, and is whistled for 14 LESS fouls, and shoots 14 more free throws than the other one (SF) who is playing primarily a half court 2/3 zone, AND PHS also gets fouled on 11 out of 19 possessions in the 4th quarter, not to mention 2 more offensive fouls called on SF off the ball in the 4th and 3 very controversial charging calls that ALL went PHSâs way ---- Then Iâm sorry I think something is WRONG!!!! The only men needing to look in the mirror here is the three that called the game.

Don't you think those turnovers could have been because the JV had to play since 4 of SF's starters were fouled out?

"Isn't that the way just about every fanbase reacts? Fans blame the officials for everything that is called and not called. It's time to get off the refs. They make good calls and bad calls. What are we going to do about it? Nothing...
Sometimes it is easier to just blame all the mistakes on the "kids". Maybe it's easier to use the "they had their chances", "they didn't hit their free throws", instead of looking at the "grownups" on the court. We have some in this area that make mistakes from time to time and if it is against my team I am not happy, but I don't blame them for the outcome of the game. Sometimes they get carried away; by the emotions on the court, with the actions of the crowd, and even with the coaches antics on the sideline. This shouldn't be, but I guess that is part of human nature. What ever happened to referees with a philosophy like George Conley "Larry Conley's dad"? He said that when he was on the court, the only thing that mattered were the ten kids on the floor.
I was proud of the effort our players gave, they never gave up, they never lost their tempers, and left everything they had on the court. These kids have given huge parts of their summers, breaks and weekends, plus many hours after school for their team. I will not blame them for this loss.
If anyone can tell me why the refs chose not to call a technical, I would greatly appreciate it. And just why isn't anything done when mistakes on their behalf are obvious? Not just a bad call or two, but overlooking calls that determine the outcome of a game isn't right. At times it seems they are the only adults or professionals not accountable for their actions.
We have good officials in this region and have lost several over the last few years. I believe that officials assigned to the state tournament are chosen because of their performances on the court. Or at least that is what I have been led to believe. Why not as someone mentioned earlier have all post season officials selected in this way? I know there are enough good referees out there, lets show them some respect by rewarding them for their dedication.

After all is said and done, after all the griping and complaining, what did Prestonsburg actually win? A date with Shelby Valley and an apparent 50 point loss. So keep on griping and complaining about how you would rather be the ones getting the beat down.

This time I don't think the griping or complaining is not without good reason. SV is a heavy favorite no matter who they play in the regional tournament! It's about older kids getting to play in a regional tournament and getting experience for younger ones.
