Wow...I'm surprised there's been no mention of Anthony Hickey in this thread in the top 5. I honestly forgot all about him when I made the list in my first post, but his credentials speak for themself.

He has put up big numbers against Holmes, Bowling Green, Shelby Valley, Warren Central, and PCC, to name a few.

Hard to leave him off of any top 5 list.

Okay..Someone please tell me how Elisha wouldnt deserve Mr.Basketball..If you all dont think that Elisha dont do more for his team than anyone player in the state, then you are crazy..Back-to-back All "A" state titles and back-to-back MVP awards..Almost in every tourny that Valley is in and if they win..Elisha gets MVP..Because people can see what a player he is..And a very unselfish point guard..He averages 22 points and 8 assist a game..How does he not deserve Mr.Basketball loubballfan..i dont think Sewell and Chad Jackson is more impressive than Justice..I'm not bashing anybody..I'm going by what I have seen..And IMO Justice is the best all around point guard in the state..You tell me another player that has achieved more accomplishments for hisself and his team and I will shut up.

Elisha Justice get MVP because, honestly, SV is an average team without him. He makes that team go and they are where they are because of him.

BUT....I don't see how you can question Sewell and Jackson....they bring it every night against MUCH BETTER competition. Sewell was MVP of three of the biggest tournaments in Kentucky. That's much more impressive than getting MVP of the WYMT and All A.

Not a knock on EJ and it's not his fault, but he won't win Mr. Basketball because his coach did a poor job of getting exposure for him by not scheduling anyone. He scheduled one top 20 team and they lost...I'd also be willing to say that Veontae Lewis and Anthony Hickey came in and stole the show as well which doesn't bode well for EJ.

I realize the love you folks have for EJ so don't think I'm bashing him, but outside of the mountains you won't find may folks who think he's better than Sewell, Jackson, or some of the other point guards being mentioned in this thread....let alone the best player in the state.

Bleedingblue, get out of the mountains and go watch Sewell play then get back to me. I guarantee you don't have this opinion if you see the kid in person. (which I doubt you have)

BTW, think about what you say before posting. Your last post is going to do nothing but open a can of worms and cause a lot of unfair criticism of Elisha.

I believe kywldcat01 responded in the manner that I would have chosen.:thanks:

I can tell you that there are several point guards in the 7th who would match up very well with Justice and could defend him reasonably well and all except Hayes are taller and just as quick:

Thomas Jackson-Jtown
Delquan Thomas-Eastern
Decarlo Hayes-Male
Zach McElwain-Seneca
Daniel Corbett-Trinity
Reggie Breeden- Moore

If he played in Louisville, he would be ranked behind Sewell, Jackson, Chiles, K Jones at this point in the season because he would be on a team with at least six losses and his points, steals, and assist numbers would be lower having to go against the above players night in and night out.

Sorry, but just speaking my opinion and yes, I have seen Justice play this year.

Here we go........another Justice thread!
I knew it wouldn't take long.

This thread is about the top 5 point guards in the state. Not whether Justice is going to be Mr. Basketball or not! Give it a break! Every person that is not a livid SV fan hates Justice.

Looks like the majority of posters put him in their top 5. I even put him in my list of top 5.

People like you cause others to get tired of hearing the name Justice.

kywldcat01 Wrote:Too many good point guards in the state to come up with a legit top 5.

IMO the following kids could all be put in to the top 5 and you couldn't go wrong with any:

Jaylen Beckham- Lexcath
Jordan Shanklin- Warren Central
Elisha Justice- Shelby Valley
Delquan Thomas- Eastern
Thomas Jackson- J'town
Ryan Fucci- Tates Creek
D'Carlo Hayes- Male
Jarred Polson- West Jessamine
Travis Johnston- Grayson Co
Jordan Gilbert- Mason Co
Kellen Smith- Scott
Mike Gabbard- Boone Co
Grant Pangallo- Newcath
Reginald Breeden- Moore (Very underrated kid)

I think that people should start looking at BJ Moore at Sheldon Clark. I have had the honor to play with him for the last few years and if there is someone much better than him, I don't know who it would be!

Moore is barely one of the top PG's in the region, much less the state.

Except for this thread getting geared toward the typical Justice topic, it has been pretty good so far. Does anyone have any of the stats for the kid from JBS. If he is already getting recognition, hopefully he will turn out to be a solid player. As for the Elisha debate, I know that people get sick of the name and do not think he is worthy of all the attention but just let the kid be adored by his community and school. He has worked this hard to come into his last year and has given a team from the mountains an amazing chance to capture a state crown.

Anyways, Daniel Corbett of Trinity is another player that really has to get thoughts. The Shamrocks have been a team that really didn't have a lot of hype in the preseason but has developed as clearly the best in the state. He is a major contributor for the teams great success this year.
