After the game, Highlands coach Mike Flynn called Pittman âthe most talented player in the state. Ricardo (Johnson) is the best player in the state, but Pittmanâs the most talented.â
This comes from one of the most established and well respected coaches in the state.
Well, then there's no need to vote for Mr. Basketball. Only question is "Who do we give it to"? The "most talented player in the state" or the "best player in the state"? Also, I vote that we change the name of the award from
Mr. Basketball to the Mr. Bulldog award, at least for 2009-10.

I know that Holmes is a state contender and I respect their program very much. There is a lot more hate coming toward this end than from it. The 15th got a great draw for the state tournament, but I know that they could easily lose in the 1st or 2nd round if they don't bring their "A" game. If SV makes it, they can't just show up and expect to win.
DortonWildcat5 Wrote:I can definitely agree with that. It has gotten to where I (as an SV fan) can't ask a question about a Holmes game w/o getting negativity toward SV's team. I don't ever remember making any negative comments toward Holmes in order to try to make SV look any better. You, like I, have wondered at times why this Holmes team has struggled at times with lesser teams. Like I said in the rankings thread, something has to be missing (leadership, desire, point play, etc.) for them not to be as consistent as many expected. Maybe they've gotten it together now. Next week will tell alot.
Good posts. More excellent examples of the mindset of the majority of SV's fanbase.

Upsets happen, thats why you play the game. PCC is the second best team in the mnts in my opinion. Corbin has proved nothing to be #2.
But ANYWAY, grats Holmes this is a good win. Sometimes the final score don't really tell the whole story. I'd take a double digit win over a team like Highlands anyday.
You know your good with people are nitpickin a double digit win over a good team.
