Quick Has Record Night For Rocks in 66-46 Win
Freshman Flirts With Triple-Double As Rocks Win 10th Straight
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Trinity freshman James Quick notched a career high 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 steals as Trinity rolled past Holy Cross 66-46.
Trinity used a 23-6 run during the third quarter to storm ahead 53-33, including 14 straight points to end the run. Quick scored 7 of the final 14 points of the run.
Just a night earlier, the Cougars had recorded an impressive 52-35 win over Pleasure Ridge Park.
Trinity won its 10th consecutive game and improved to 12-2 on the season.
The Rocks started out slow, scoring just 11 points in the first quarter and 16 in the second quarter. After the game was tied at 13 early in the second quarter, the Rocks used a 12-5 run to take a 25-18 lead, it’s largest of the half. All 12 of Trinity’s available players saw action in the first half.
Trinity returns to action on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010 when they travel to DeSales.
Notes
• Trinity has won ten straight games. It’s the longest streak for a Trinity team since the Shamrocks won 12 games during the 2004-2005 season. The 12-game streak is the longest of the Szabo era.
• Trinity played its third game over a ten day stretch against a Catholic school. Trinity beat Lexington Catholic on Dec. 30, 2009 in overtime, 60-58. Trinity then beat Newport Central Catholic 58-50 on Jan. 2, 2010 in Newport. The Shamrocks will face DeSales on Fri. Jan. 8, 2010.

Trinity was without two of its top three post players. Dylan Kupper and Nathan Dieudonne are expected to return Friday.

Kupper was attending another school event while Dieudonne had a family committment out of town.
