I must say, I am quite impressed with the state of Eastern Kentucky HS football. My pal took me to see Lawrence County's field, Johnson Central's field, and even a trip to Inez to see Shelton Clark's field. All very impressive. The only fields in northern WV that come close to what I saw are Stadium Field in Parkersburg (turf), Erickson Stadium in Parkersburg (grass), my local Tyler Consolidated field (grass), and the sight of the WV State Football Championships next weekend Wheeling Island Stadium (turf).

I know Lawrence County doesnt have state of the art scoreboard or turf but if you go to the 50 yard line when nobody is around and just look at the surrounding scenery then you realize that the field sits dead center in one of the prettiest places in the state..
