Rowan County (26-3) vs. Boone County (24-6)

Boone County has won six in a row and is making its 10th trip and first since 2006.

Rowan County has won eight straight and is making its eighth trip and second in a row. The Vikings won their first 16 games of the season and were the state’s last unbeaten team boys or girls.

The Rebels are getting their points in the paint early and have scored 10 straight for a 10-2 lead with 3:31 left in the first quarter.
#4
Boone leads 13-4 at the end of 1Q
#5
Rowan County made its first basket less than 20 seconds into the game, but were held the rest of the first quarter without one while the Rebels went on a 13-1 run.
#6
Boone 19-10, 2:45 to go in the half
#7
Halftime: Boone 22-14
#8
After making the first shot of the game, the Vikings missed their next 13 shots. This put them in a hole early. Boone has been extending their defense, confident that Rowan cannot expose the open court. I would expect that Rowan plans to make adjustments to get the ball deeper and expose the Boone low-post D.

The Vikings are shooting 23.5 percent to 40 percent for Boone. Lauren Bowling leads the Rebels with 11 points and five rebounds.

Keep them coming SD.

Zero scoring in the final four minutes of the third quarter. Heading to the fourth, Boone County still leads 30-19.

Sorry I got distracted
#11
Boone is slowing the game down and being very deliberate.

3:53 to go
#12
Rowan should have took this one fairly easy in my opinion, but Boone is stomping them, geesh.
#13
Obviously upsets happen come tourney time and this looks like it will be just that.
#14
2:42 to-go, Boone 34-23. Rowan has been trying to get back in the game with 3-point shots that won't fall. Boone has slowed the game down to a crawl. Boone is taking ZERO outside shots, they are only looking to shoot if they get the ball into the paint.

Fair to say, but you may not have seen Boone play this year. Once they got healthy, they have taken control of games with their inside play. They are big, and keep teams from scoring inside. The dominate games with their defense

Jennifer Brockman has four foul and has just missed two 3's in the last 30 seconds

This is not the same Boone team that lost by 20 early in the season. They did not have all of their players in a healthy state. As you can see by the score, they can shut a team down offensively.

Yea, I haven't watched this. Sounds like they are dominating the paint and that will win a ball game for a team. Especially when the team playing catch up shoots 3s and they aren't falling. I just have Rowan County pegged as the best team to come out of this area and one of the best in state all the same. Not to take anything away from Boone, I just had bigger expectations.

Jennifer Brockman just fouled out with only 4 points.

35-26 Boone - :30 to go
#21
Rowan County is shooting just 20 percent from the field
#22
Boone wins 39-26

Boone's Davis finishes with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Lauren Bowling POG - 17 pts & 10 Reb.

The best team in this area is getting ready to take the floor at Diddle.
