Casey Co. 54 - Johnson Central 31 (1st Round Sweet 16)
#1
Before the tournament, Coach Randy Salyers was singing the praises of freshman Megan Pittman, now the rest of the state knows why. The 5-foot-11 center scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the Rebels’ (28-3) 12th straight win.
Kayla McFarland added 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists and Lauren Hatter had 12 points in the win.
The Eagles (26-6), who had a 12-game win streak snapped, couldn’t lift their curse of eight trips to state but no first-round victories. They were led by Hayley Meek’s eight points.
Against Casey County’s dominant defense, Johnson Central managed to hit just six field goals in 37 tries (16.2 percent).

Not surprising but nevertheless, I'm glad that JC went to state. Casey County was one of the top teams in the state, illustrated that by making it to the tourney, and was just too much for Johnson Central to handle. Also, you commented on Pittman, she will definitely be one to watch. Tremendous player and will be for years to come. Good luck girls and congratulations to the Lady Eagles for making it that far once again.

knew this one would go Casey's way however the score is a little shocking thought JC would keep it with a respectuful 10 points. Casey is no team to shy away from when looking at their talent. If Casey and Iroqouis win their next games my pick for the State Champs comes from that semi final match. Congats to JC on another trip to Diddle

I don't see Casey County making it that far. It will be a stretch for them to make it past the next round.

I missed this pick bad. I wasn't aware that Casey County was this talented.

Casey County has a very good team and came out ready to play Wednesday night. Congats to the Lady Eagles and Coach Wireman on their winning season.

Everyone talks about Casey County as an amazing team. I'm sure they're a great team, seeing that they made it to state, but they're not better than Johnson Central (when looking at talent). I heard Johnson Central chokes up on games such as this, and that's the reason I think they lost.

Anyway, congrats Casey County on the win and congrats Johnson County on another great season.
