Louisville Eastern 70 - Louisville Trinity 60
#1
Eastern pulls out a hard fought victory at home against Trinity tonight. Eastern didn't play their best, but they by no means played bad, Trinity simply played up to the competition. The story of the game was Trinity freshman guard Chris Harrison. At the beginning of the games Eastern's double teams came off him and they paid for it. The kid was feeling it tonight and just hit everything he threw up, not sure on the line score, but I'm pretty sure he had atleast 6 threes with a few other scores thrown in. Huge night for the kid who should have been at Eastern, but chose to attend Trinity. The game was tied at 18 a piece at the end of the 1st quarter, and Eastern led 37-36 at the half. The 3rd quarter played out much as the first half, as a back and forth battle between the two teams. Trinity held a 1 point lead entering the 4th quarter, but Eastern came out firing. They made big defensive plays and then followed those up with some clutch shots on the offensive end.

Eastern played their trademark team ball, as the scoring was spread around and their pressure gave Trinity a headache toward the end of the game. Their blocking out on rebounding was somewhat questionable, as they didn't get every rebound that they should have. Overall a good game.

This game was very good for Eastern as they needed a little dose of reality in the form of a close game. I was also glad to see how the players handled the pressure, coming up with the ball and then making clutch jump shots and free throws at the other end to seal the game.

Eastern follows up this game with Male on Fri night. Male hasn't been playing the best of late, however, their rivarly with Eastern is a heated one.

Looks like the Eagles survived a scare from a very good Shamrock team.

Congrats Eastern!
