Tre Jones scored only seven points last night, but those included the game-winning free throws in overtime to lift the Manual High School boys' basketball team to a 70-68 win over St. Xavier last night.
Jones hit 5 of 6 free throws in overtime, including the last two with just two seconds left. The Tigers (9-8) missed a desperation shot at the buzzer.
Manual's Jacob Jenkins, who missed the last four games with a stress fracture in his foot, returned to the lineup and scored 21 points for the Crimsons (10-9). He hit 8 of 13 shots, including 4 of 7 three-point attempts.
Patrick Butcher scored 13 points for St. X, and Nick Spalding added 12.
