Highlands Austin Collinsworth sepected part of "Dixie Dozen"
#1
Highlands football standout Austin Collinsworth has been chosen by the Orlando Sentinel as a member of the newspaper's "Dixie Dozen" All-Southern team.

The paper selects 12 players from each Southern state for its postseason honors.

Collinsworth, son of former Bengals wide receiver Cris Collinsworth, was an Enquirer all-star this past season as a defensive back, a position at which he had four interceptions and returned one for a touchdown.

The 6-foot-2, 184-pound junior also plays receiver for the Bluebirds, who won the Class 5A state title.

Also honored by the Sentinel was Duron Carter, son of NFL legend Cris Carter. Duron Carter is a senior receiver at Fort Lauderdale's St. Thomas Aquinas, which defeated Elder this past season in the Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series.

Carter, 6-2, 190, will play in college at Ohio State, his father's alma mater.

Other future Buckeyes among the Dixie Dozen: Louisville Trinity linebacker Jordan Whiting (6-0, 230) and Louisville Male defensive back Justin Green (5-10, 178).

Congrats to AC. He's a class gentleman. Everyone knows his dad, but this is a first-class family.

Congrats to the Austin.

Hopefully UK will offer him because he will be an awesome slot wide receiver, much like Dic-ky Lyons Jr.

My understanding is that UK has yet to make any offers. UC is likely the leader at this stage.
