Will they accept media passes? If not I'll have to try and borrow a few bucks from someone.

Yeah if you work for the media i don't see why you wouldn't be able to use it.

long trip for the maroons,i remember making the trip to bell county back in 88 or 89 to play in th coke a cola classic in football..

Yes media passes are allowed and there will be a media and autograph room set up so coahces and certain players can be interviwed. Forget the KABC thing on Friday, there is no comparision. It sounds like to me that if you want to find out how good or can be just have committed to this. I know Shelby Valley dropped out to play in the KABC event. Sure would have liked to see them play Scott County or Elliott County and even Madisonville for that matter. Heard that plans are already been made for next years and that Cov. Holmes, Clark County and a couple more have alteady committed. Should be a great day of basketball and I play on being there, hope you can get out to the games.:yikes:

I attended last year and University Heights played in it. That was a long trip
for them as well. When teams travel that far to play in anything I guess that
says a lot about the event. If I had a big time player I would want to show
case them in this event with all of the other talent . This thing has really turned into a Pre Season ShowCase for big time teams and players.

Everyone be sure to come out and see it tomorrow i know i will

The matchup should have been Manual vs Madisonville. This was prevented to save the Mr. Basketball award to a UK commit. Madisonville requested Elliott County while Manual was wanting M'ville. Last year you had UHA's Hopson and MC's Miller square off. What a shame for this year #1 and #2 won't meet.

someone let me know how HOOD does i went to school there with travis ford and moved to belfry and became a pirate, even though i am in tn now, once a pirate always a pirate, but cheer for the maroons..

Johnson Central lost 50-31 in the first half. Second half was about the same. Something like 46-31. Was impressed with Powers at the point. T.J. Curtis had a nice game as well. Dupont Manual had a very nice team. Big kid "rogers" I think was his name was very impressive. I am sure Coach Mckenzie and his staff will have the boys ready for the regular season. People of Sheldon Clark should be very proud of this basketball showcase. They had everything looking great. Tremendous basketball atmosphere!!
11-29-2008, 04:49 PM
sorry The kid from Paul Dunbar was who I was talking about. Was reading about Manual and typed in the wrong name sorry!!!

One other thing to consider. Schools get paid to play in the Fastlane but have to pay to play in Rupp. On second thought, I'm not sure if the local teams get paid to play in the fastlane or just the out of area teams like Madisonville-NH and Scott County.

Anyone know how Mason County game came out? Thanks

I left at halftime, but I'll be honest......I was not overly impressed by Hood.
