Lewis has some good players when everyone gets on the same page they can score some points.

Powell Co's leading tackler jesse rose went down with a knee injury in the first quarter. The injury is minor, they just wasnt risking it so he didnt go back into the game.

i was close to my 21+ prediction, but good job guys, real good job, only loss to a tough estill team so far, you can get breathitt if they play like they did against estill, estill should have got them but i dont know. keep it up guys

I don't know what happened to the defense. They just had blown assignments is my best guess. But a wins a win.

Powell played a great game tonight. Once again, the 3rd quarter wasn't very good, and once again, we picked it up in the 4th.

We gave up "3" pass plays. That's it. We played Good "d" all night. We just fell asleep for 3 plays. We also fumbled a definate TD on the 5 yd line. Congratz Powell. Lewis is a descent team. There is no way this team should be winless. Let's get ready for a gritty Bath Co. team.

Did you watch the Florida - Ole Miss game today? It only takes falling asleep on one play to lose.

Lewis hasn't won all year.None of Powell's out of district games are tough.Come on.They have improved but REALLY?

Im am so tired of how that Breathitt is so good, the only team that was really good that beat them was JC. Look at there power ratings 64 they would be the 27th team in 6A and 20th team in 4A. If Estill dont fumble they win, they controled the ball the whole game. If you play teams that Holcomb schedules every year you will have a winning season. As said before come off of the high horse and play some real football teams Madison Central,Clark Co,BELL Co. thats why you cant get by Belfry. And 30 points over Powell? you could only get a fumble and run it back, they scored 28 against Estill and was in the red zone 4 more times and should have scored but they didnt. If Breathitt dont have some kind of pass defense Powell will score at will. Im not saying Powell will win but dont over look them.

Evidentally you have not seen Breathitt's schedules in the past nor do you acknowledge their three state championships. They will beat Powell Co as bad as Holcomb wants to, so I don't think I would do much to upset them. Talking with an Estill faithful and friend of coach Jones, I was told the game should have been 21-0 in the first qr Breathitt but they dropped 3 TD's. Breathitt has beaten Madison Central in the past and I promise they don't run from anyone. They have a hard time filling a schedule because of their success.

Listen guys, Powell HAS improved by strides. You guys are saying that they haven't played anybody that is a tuff opponent, but you need to realize that in the past ALL opponents were tuff for Powell. No game was easy for them. So for them to now be blowing these teams away shows that they have improved. Before this year they were right there with these teams they have beat. I guarantee you will see them make a game out of every opponent they play this year which we all know has not been the case in the past.

I think your statement is a little off. They did drop 3 passes but it was in the same series. You can only score 1 TD a series. Mayebe 7-0 at half. Just look at there power rating, they are not in the top 40 in the state and yes i know we will here the 3a issue." so what". You say Breathitt wont run from anyone? Do you see anyone on there schedule in the past 10 years that they should not have beat????? Regular season.Let them play some schools from lexington or if they are so good Trinty and ST.X are always looking for a game, but as you no Holcomb would not take that beating and i would not blame him. Just rember you can only put youre best 11 on the field. Breathitt is rich in tradition and i respect that, i just dont respect that everybody down there in Jackson think there team is un touchable but we saw that not to be true in there first 2 games.

Not making me mad partner, just going by what an ex-player who was at the game told me. I do know that regardless, respect was earned.

The first two games this year Breathitt was the underdog. They paid out of a contract to get Johnson Central on the shedule. They play Lexington Christian which is one of the best recruiting scools in Ky. The have some of the Louisville school's because that is all that would schedule them. They have also beaten other Lexington schools. I know Holcomb will play anyone, they have to when they get invited to these bowl games (Rec Bowl). I don't see why Breathitt people can't think their team is untouchable when everyone else in the mountains thinks their team is the same way, for example, Belfry, Russell, Letcher Central, Hazard just to name a few. BTW, there have several teams in the past 10 years they should not have beaten but have with a little luck on their side and some good ole' home town referees. Power ratings are just numbers generated by a computer. The computer does not know how good a team is or the strength of the teams they have beat, it only sees numbers.

Yes we dropped passes.No excuses here but that game is over.We played good(enough)defense andwe won 7-6.Maybe we will meet Estill again but this is about Powell now and we WILL walk all over them.
