Harlan Co. 32 - Fleming Co. 0
#1
Congrats to the Black Bears of Harlan County on their first district win of the season. I am so proud of all of our Bears. The defense absolutely ROCKED last night!!! :letsparty

Also, way to go Bear Nation for a great crowd showing up despite a 4-hour drive and $5 a gallon gas prices.

On another note, I hope Fleming's QB is okay today after getting injured and taken out of the game during a sack.

Their defense was awesome to say the least! Two safeties and 9 sacks in one game is unheard of. Also, their special teams play was very good and may win them some games (they returned a punt to the 5 to set up their first score and returned a kick for a touchdown). Their offense was good, but not great (they may have kept it conservative because they did not have to open it up much). Fleming's defense played alright considering their were put in several bad situations.

Harlan County has proved to me that they are definately one of the Top 10 3A teams in the state.

Couple more trials and that will be legitimized!

Watch out for the Black Bears, they're on the trail of something BIG!

They are on the trail (which is something not alot of teams can say IMO), but sadly I think there are quite a few teams who are a considerably ahead of them at this time. If those other teams take time to take in the scenery as the season unwinds then I could definately see HCHS making up some distance though.

The Black Bears have proved a lot of people wrong. Many thought that the three schools couldnt be put together and be successful this year, but that issue is dissolved. These young men have came together and worked hard for Larkey and Staff and they are seeing the result of hard work unfold. If they stay focused and continue to work hard for Coach Larkey and Staff, they will be in contention.
