I was at the game tonight and there were bad calls on both ends. Don't make excuses when your team loses. Both teams fought hard and should be proud of themselves. Congrats Powell and Goodluck to both teams in the region.

What was the score? Obviously, I wasn't there, but I have seen the Powell Co. home court advantage. We do seem to get alot of calls. Oh well, I guess that's why it is called an advantage. It's just a fact of life. Powell don't get any favors at Lee, Owlsley, or Estill. Better luck next year Estill.

More excuses. There were bad calls on both teams tonight. Get over the fact that Powell beat your team. And the score was 51-48 blitz43. It was a great game!!

What on earth are you talking about? Rolleyes

I'm a neutral observer, and this was not a bad called game. There were a few missed calls both ways, but in the end it balanced out. Estill had their chances to win but they didn't take advantage of them. And Powell did, and won.

Excuses you said it yourself bad calls both way just the time of the calls and you got the most. It's the time thay fouled out our center in two trips up the floor.

Congrats to Powell on winning the district. Congrats to Estill for overcoming so many injuries and an 0-10 start to finish runner-up. It was a great game. The game was a toss up right to the end. Courtney Jones made plays. Estill didn't lose the game; Powell won it with key plays by Jones down the stretch. Again, congrats to both teams. Good luck in the Regional.

Did the Rogers girl play for Powell? I can remember a couple of weeks ago of talk that she was hurt. Who all is battling injurys at Powell? I know the Barnett girl is out with a knee.

Yes the Rogers girl played. She played a great game with good defense. Powell will get her back next year along with Mcfarland, Barnett and the Gibson girl will prove to be a key player.

Congrats Lady Pirates!!!! It was an awesome game...And we did have the home court advantage but there were calls missed on both teams....But it was an awesome games...Good luck at regions both teams!!!

Just wanted to throw this in..did you see the Powell asst coach (ithink she is asst.) jumping up and down celebrating when Estill big girl fouled out..talk about poor sportsmanship this take the cake!

It's all just basketball: big time hot rivalry coaches reacting with strong emotion fans yelling at refs taunting each other it's what makes it fun and exciting and heartbreaking all at once powell/estill maybe the fastest growing most intense rivalry around

I have talked to alot of my friends from Powell Co and ever one tells me she is a short timer not well liked in that porgram. Did you she her at the boys game all she did was watch the Estill co crowed and pointed all night thought that was kinda weird.

Eagle...they are talking about the girls asst. coach from Powell County....Pat Summit wanna be for sure....she did taunt Estill's fans and crowd during their game Sat night.

It was a good game between Estill and Powell. I have not seen either team play much this year but understand Estill came from behind and did great to even be in the championship game. I also understand they had two freshmen who were not able to play at all this year and will be stronger and better next season. They only lose two girls so they should be fine come next year. I have friends in EC who give me this info. I am not from either town. I don't really know much about Powell's girls.

BUT...did the MVP for the tournament not make the all tourney team? Can someone explain that? If I were her parents I would wonder....what is up with that? I think she may have been a Jones/ Not sure at all...corrections needed I am sure.

Most Valuable Player is usually considered a part of the All Tournament Team... but given last as a special award

How about you stop criticizing the coach, and use this forum for the right reason.....you obviously have no clue how hard these coaches work.....powell and estill.

I'm pretty sure there was taunting from both sides. Come on everyone. It's Powell and Estill County were talking about. It always goes farther than on the court. It gets downright personal between them. Am I right?

Afte the game when the net got cut down why did one senior cheerleader get to cut a piece of the net are the coaches ignorant there were three other senior cheerleaders who deserved to do the same if you ask me to much favortism. Powell has some major issues with this problem especially with the cheerleaders shame on the coaches for not treating everyone fairly. Other schools are fair with there athletes.
