I know Caitlin Conley, Brittney Swindall and Holly McCarty from East Ride made it. Not sure about Pikeville and Shelby Valley. Congrats to all the girls who made the all district team.

^^^Shull was also on the ALL Tourney team.

2 teams: All District for ENTIRE season and an All-Tournament Team for tournament play.
I believe Shull was out for the first half of the season. But, she played GREAT in the tourney!

I think the two teams BOTH being presented at the district tourney is a bad idea.
I think most folks were confused at SV especially because no one could understand the PA announcer(SV needs a new sound system.)
All District team could be announced/presented at a banquet for the 3 teams in the district...I'm sure a corporate sponsor could be found.

If they can read they can read it in the paper. LOL I saw lots of people up there who I would say "look confused" most of the time.
Any time student athletes are recognized for their efforts I think it is great. I think a conference/regular season team and a tourney team is good. Kids that are dedicated and play sports in this day and time are rare. Most kids are too lazy.

Yep...I know what you mean about the looking confused.
I agree recognition is great in any form...My point was if the two announcements were separate, attention would be even greater.

I don't know where you guys were sitting, but I was way up top in the rafters of the gym and I understood what was going on.
And, I think the two teams are a great idea. It was a pleasant surprise. I've hated the last few years where Standout players during the tournament do not get the trophy and recognition they deserve because the voting was done prior to the tournament and based on regular season games. This way, these kids who have worked hard get proper recognition. Like a previous post said, they get rewarded for getting off the couch and doing something, and doing it well.
Anyway, your idea about having a banquet or something sounds nice, but wouldn't provide as much exposure as the tourney does.
I'm old school and prefer that only all-tourney trophies be given. But, I don't mind the all season ones.
Congratulations to all the girls. You've had a great year.
