Most Outstanding Big Man in the 14th?
#1
Whats your thoughts?
#2
Josh Taylor
#3
Garrison Collins
#4
I've only seen one and he was pretty darn good, that was Cordia's Josh Taylor. He has a nice shot along with a big frame for a eastern Kentucky big guy.
#5
Garrison Collins, followed closely by Taylor
#6
Garrison Collins is by far the best big man in these parts.. He needs to get more looks but has been dunking almost every game and at 6'10" he can control a game with his defense alone...

Collins is a very good player, but IMO, Collins is one of the best big men in these parts, but certainly not the best by far. In the 14th region I think its between Collins and Taylor. However, I think Adams from Pikeville is probably the best. JMO

What has happened to Gay at Buckhorn? I have not heard anything about him in weeks. He was one heck of a player when I seen him last year.

Collins was named by the national magazine "Sporting News" as a honorable mention ALL AMERICAN. Only a few kids in KY made the list...

Collins plays smart. He rarely takes a bad shot. He hits free throws. He's usually in good defensive position. He's quicker than he looks. He's in very good shape. His shot block timing and position are unusually good for the high school level and for his build. He never hurts you offensively and his defense usually changes the other team's game. Using a scoring analogy, he's probably worth 20 to 40 points a game. Did I say that? Yes, more valuable than Stepp's average., but consider that his value might diminish on a team that doesn't understand how to use him. Clark Stepp and the coaches at JBHS put Collins in a position to be that productive. Stepp's basketball smarts also add to his average. The JBHS team is much tougher than the sum of its parts.

Garrison Collins is definately better then Adams. Didn't you watch the WYMT game !!!! Collins had two dunks against he #1 at the time .. team in the state.. MASON CO. He's dunking almost every game now. And he is pretty much JBS'S Defense. What more could you want from a big man?

I watched the wymt game and I thought the match up was pretty even for the most part, but if I had to pick an individual performance. IMO I thught Adams outplayed Collins. JBS could not keep Adams off the board earlier in the game. They game got out of hand so some of match ups where not like they would have been had the game been close.

JBS wasn't in a man defense. Collins was not matched up on Adams. It was a diamond and one... not focusing on Adams. And it did cost JBS in the first quarter.

Garrison Collins. He's not asked to do a lot on offense but if they needed him to, he could control a game inside the paint.
