This uses the massey ratings, which anytime math is involved, it needs time. Week 6 massey ratings usually don’t miss. Week 1 ratings are just using the teams from last year and can’t comprehend losing seniors.
For preseason, use humans. For season, use computers.

They had east carter favored over martin county by 20-30 points last year for the last game of the season and Martin thumped them. It just seems to be innacurate to me

Also since kentucky is one of the few states that primarily throws out maxpreps and doesn’t keep up with it, maybe it’s not a great tell for this state as it is others? Does it use arbiter? I know using riherds completely messes a lot of things up when it comes to national websites.(07-23-2025, 08:29 PM)Gridiron_Raid Wrote: This uses the massey ratings, which anytime math is involved, it needs time. Central probably shouldn’t be in there. They lost a lot of their team from last year and play a nasty schedule.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see them finish with a losing regular season record.
Belfry might need higher consideration. Pirates return like 19 of 22 starters and about 99 percent of their production from a semi-finals team last year. I would probably slide Central out and out Belfry at 25.
I also probably put Ryle at #4.
I think Corbin is probably a little too high. I would probably have them around 12.

It's a typical pre-season poll.
All it tells you is that these are some teams that should have some success.
I wouldn't get too worked up one way or the other about any ranking on this one.

This year I have came up with a new plan and should be real fun. I will just be posting them. 2025 Rankings will not have any of my input only what I get from the assigned members per class will be posted. That gives them the flexibility to put who they want where they want. Some will be happy, some will be sad....LOL!!!!

Or at least thats how I see it since its linked to Rivals.

For instance, Cooper was 40 pts better than highlands last november, and returns the best QB in this state. It cant comprehend the losses that Central, BS, Woodford Co, Scott Co, Corbin, etc etc will lose, and cannot fathom what a team like Belfry brings back.
