This uses the massey ratings, which anytime math is involved, it needs time. Week 6 massey ratings usually don’t miss. Week 1 ratings are just using the teams from last year and can’t comprehend losing seniors.

For preseason, use humans. For season, use computers.

Not a big fan of massey ratings. They had east carter favored over martin county by 20-30 points last year for the last game of the season and Martin thumped them. It just seems to be innacurate to me

It’s probably hard to compare two teams not in the top 100 best teams in kentucky when they have no common opponents and are in different classes. Also since kentucky is one of the few states that primarily throws out maxpreps and doesn’t keep up with it, maybe it’s not a great tell for this state as it is others? Does it use arbiter?  I know using riherds completely messes a lot of things up when it comes to national websites.

Central probably shouldn’t be in there. They lost a lot of their team from last year and play a nasty schedule.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see them finish with a losing regular season record.

Belfry might need higher consideration. Pirates return like 19 of 22 starters and about 99 percent of their production from a semi-finals team last year. I would probably slide Central out and out Belfry at 25.

I also probably put Ryle at #4.

I think Corbin is probably a little too high. I would probably have them around 12.

It's a typical pre-season poll.
All it tells you is that these are some teams that should have some success.
I wouldn't get too worked up one way or the other about any ranking on this one.

As long as you have my Hounds in the Top 10, you won't get any Old School heat.  Smile

This year I have came up with a new plan and should be real fun. I will just be posting them. 2025 Rankings will not have any of my input only what I get from the assigned members per class will be posted. That gives them the flexibility to put who they want where they want. Some will be happy, some will be sad....LOL!!!!  Smile

That's not good for my Redhounds, esp. if the 4A guy is a JC or PT fan.  Smile   Not a good plan. I trust your football knowledge more than anyone on the board.  Your input is needed for me to give it much credibility.

Smile I really enjoy doing the rankings, probably the most fun I had because it made me look a little harder at each class and by doing so you gain alot of respect for all these teams. I just thought with so many great BGR members wanting to take part in doing rankings, and 3 classes has already been submitted for posting. I respect all opinions and last year we honestly give free reign to the members who contributed last year in the individual class rankings, I ended up doing Class 1A and of course I had to take a lead role in Class 4A because I follow it so hard. A couple of weeks I made plenty of errors in my choices and I valued the feedback that I read on the comments. Doing rankings isn't easy because you are putting your thoughts out publicly for scrutiny. Good or Bad, but I loved it. It challenges a person to consider all the process when making a listing. I will stay on top of it and I hope more of the members will contribute. Last year I felt like our members did a great job putting together a quality ranking. I had no complaints with my help last year. I appreciate the good compliments like King Kong, Old School Hound and Jet Pilot!! I am fans of your guys content also. Thats what makes BGR the best place to be able to post the truth and say it like you mean it. I think 2025 will be a fun year to trash talk and should have some very good football to watch. Maybe one of the most unpredictable years in all classes in a while. Should make for some hard pick em choices. Granny will be throwing strikes at us and making for some fun picking. About like picking an egg out from under a sitting hen lol.

That list was solely based off a computer algorithm on last years results and can not take in losing players unless they were highly recruited and would show up in their computations like what PT lost. Or at least thats how I see it since its linked to Rivals.

For instance, Cooper was 40 pts better than highlands last november, and returns the best QB in this state. It cant comprehend the losses that Central, BS, Woodford Co, Scott Co, Corbin, etc etc will lose, and cannot fathom what a team like Belfry brings back.

Hey that's a good question I believe they  belong in there somewhere. They will be there before it's over.
