Parker Watts committed to KCU yesterday. I believe he could’ve definitely played at a higher level than this. What’s everyone’s thoughts?

Absolutely. Kids who can play need to go to a coach with the right connections to get them to the next level. I hate that.

JJ has coached 2 players that made it to division one level. I’d say he has plenty of connections. Parker has went on visits to multiple D-1 schools. I think he and his parents wanted him to stay closer to home and that’s okay. NAIA is pretty good completion and with the new ear of transfer portal I think a lot of kids will go this route due to lack of recruiting HS kids anymore. They will have to go to small schools get a year under their belt and then move onto a bigger and better opportunity.

A lot more goes into recruiting than just talent. Kid can play but definitely some major baggage comes with him. Hope he figures it all out.

Probably could have benefitted from a post-grad year like another former Tolsia Rebel Coty Jude did. Ended up getting a scholarship to UNC Asheville and had a very successful career there.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the season rolls around. Sometimes kids sign but then when the season starts they aren't on a roster. I do hope he goes there and does well. I loved seeing Trey James and Brady Dingess have those D-1 signings, but sadly, they didn't contribute much at the D-1 level. People love hyping up these mountain kids as D-1 prospects, but many forget just how big of a jump the 15th Region is to D-1.

Saw the kid play one time, has a ton of potential, hope he makes it.

Kcu is a landing spot for a lot of kids
Due to the tuition assistance that can be provided to families that don’t make a ton of money
Good for Watts to be playing he is a talent for sure and if he does what he did in high school someone will see him playing and get him to transfer
