He certainly left no doubt on his alliance to Putin, even echoing Putin in calling for Zelensky's ouster. I know that Trump is old, but surely he hasn't forgotten that Russia invaded Ukraine. I'm interested in how the Trump followers will spin this.
Trump’s slam of Zelensky is a remarkable moment in US foreign policy
On Tuesday, Trump wrongly accused Ukraine of starting the conflict and parroted another Moscow talking point in saying that the Ukrainian president should hold an election that was suspended because his country is in a state of war, under daily attack from Moscow’s forces.

You keep forgetting to post a link to your fake news far-left propaganda sites. Everything Trump says about Zelensky is true.
"Elections are bad" is another idiotic take libtards have been forced to adopt by their libtard TV sets. I don't know how far my IQ would have to fall before I would want the Ukraine war to stay on the same path as the prior administration; that is, epic fail. Actually I do know - very very far.

Wasnt Ukraine part of Russian at one point? Was that after WWII or before?

Yes, at different times in history. Most recently, at the end of WWI, up until the Soviet Union dissolved in '91. If a couple of folks on here have their way, Russia will own Ukraine again in 2025.

Nobody wants that, nor will it happen. Either poor reading comprehension or dishonesty.
Still waiting for suggestions on solutions from liberals on how to end the war, but as always no solutions will be coming from them.

Simple solution is to stop being the world police until the world holds up their end of the deal.
or,

Sending hundreds of billions of taxpayers' dollars to get all those innocent people killed in an unwinnable war is like the opposite of being world police.

Donald Trump's Favorite Newspaper Calls His Ukraine Proposal 'Despicable'
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/...3e71&ei=17
The outlet wrote of Trump's proposed deal, "Indeed, as a share of GDP it looks to be harsher than what the victorious allies imposed on Germany in the Peace of Versailles after World War I," and added that, "To squeeze the war-crippled country for all we can, simply because we can, would be despicable."
The Post also wrote that "helping Ukraine defend itself from Vladimir Putin's illegal, barbaric invasion was the right thing to do" and that "there is the possibility for a deal that leaves Ukraine's dignity intact and benefits both parties
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Daniel Fried, the former U.S. ambassador to Poland, wrote: "From the often Trump-friendly @nypost, a first-rate take down of the Trump administration's predatory demand for Ukraine's resources."
So you are saying that these GOP Lawmakers did not make these statements?

Europe's aid to Ukraine was made in the form of loans. Trump is just trying to recover some of the hush money that Biden sent to Ukraine. Maybe Musk and Trump will figure out who got over half the money that Ukraine claims was never received.

So you are still saying that Don Bacon, a Republican Congressman from Nebraska did not make this statement? You have listened to Trump so much that you have learned to dodge and lie like your master. Bacon is high on my list of Gop lawmakers since he is willing to accept the threats that will come his way by speaking the truth. Is that what you want our Country to become?
Sen. Thom Tillis (R-North Carolina) told CNN, "Make no mistake about it: That invasion was the responsibility of one human being on the face of this planet. It was Vladimir Putin in a calculation to go through Ukraine and not stop there, to go through Moldova, to go through the Balkans, to ultimately go to the Baltic states and send the signal to China that now is the time that they can take action in the South China Sea."
CNN's Lauren Fox quoted Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) as saying, "I do not agree that President Zelensky is to blame in any way. This was a rogue invasion by Russia."
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) disagreed with Trump as well, telling reporters, "I would certainly never (refer to) President Zelensky as a dictator."

It's amazing how our resident self-proclaimed communist and fake former Republican believe that invoking the names of Trump haters such as Liz Cheney, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Mitch McConnell, or Adam Kinzinger prove that Trump is wrong about anything. Cheney and Kinzinger are would-be felons with a questionable pardons in their pockets. Murkowski gives AOC, Mazie Hirono, and Hank Johnson a run for their money for the title of the dumbest member of Congress. McConnell is a crooked politician who hates Trump for exposing the corrupt system that he has helped support for nearly 50 years.
I put Susan Collins in a separate category. As a Republican from a blue state, I think she does what she needs to do to remain electable. The alternative to Collins is probably a left-wing Democrat, so I believe she deserves some slack from Republicans lucky enough to live in red states.
I believe that Trump is playing hardball with Zelensky and made the statement about Ukraine starting the way as a negotiating ploy. Ukraine was a very corrupt country before the war and they remain very corrupt. I do not believe Trump thinks that Ukraine started the war. I place blame for the war in rank order on:
1. Russia - Russia had a choice to invade or not.
2. Joe Biden - Biden's statement that the U.S. would not strongly oppose a "minor incursion" by Russia was either idiotic or was made to entice Russia into invading Ukraine. Ukraine has been very, very generous to the Biden family and there is no reason to believe that Ukraine has not been paying the family kickbacks on all of the foreign aid that Biden has provided with no strings attached.
3. Ukraine - Zelensky did not exercise good judgment when he began pushing for entry into NATO. When Russia began amassing troops along the border, Zelensky should have withdrawn the NATO membership proposal if Ukraine was not prepared to defeat Russia in an all out war.
Trump has proven that he is a skilled negotiator. He is making a great effort to recover some of the many billions of dollars that Biden threw to Ukraine with no strings and no oversight. Europe provided loans to Ukraine for the war effort. Unfortunately, the U.S. did not have a president for four years. If the presidency had not been vacant, then maybe our aid to Ukraine would also have been in the form of secured loans.
