Raceland 67 Russell 26
#1
Final from the palace.

WOW!! I expected Raceland to win at home but not by this margin. Did Russell have kids out with injuries or illness? Russell is no longer an inexperienced team. Any details?

I assume Russell is bitten by the flu bug since they beat Raceland just a few weeks ago??

Kaden Benge was absent from the lineup. Arnett and Thacker played one of their best games. Raceland locked Burgess up and stayed close to Rimmer making his shots tough. Welch played a great game in the paint.
Rams looked well prepared and Russell played their normal box and 1 and zones.
Makes 63rd a nightmare. Raceland, Lewis and Russell all 4-2 in the district.

Just Benge missing. Hes good maybe 10-15 point difference but not 40 points. I think difference was raceland did not let Russell shoot 3s and it seems that Russell lives and dies at the 3point line.

Devils missed Benge tn and it proved lethal but Benge doesn’t create 40 points. Rams played a complete game tn and arnett has surpassed what I originally believed he could do in the Phelps game earlier in the season and now he took that to a whole new level. Played hustle defense all night and scored when he wanted and how he wanted. 63rd is gonna 63rd.

One of the most underrated 16th region players who could lead Raceland to the region title is #25 Brody Bradshaw. His free throw shooting ability is unmatched and will help Raceland take that leap to the next level.

I figured they had a player or two out becasue this score is kind of mind-boggling.

I agree with Hooperregion. Unfortunately Russell has become of a guard oriented team that lives by the 3 and dies by the 3 even though they have one of the best forwards in the 16th Regions. In my opinion (which means nothing more than being one person's opinion) Rimmer will never be more than a second opinion or third opinion with the new coaching staff. Plus if Russell can't out score you then they are in trouble becasue they don't put much importance on the defensive end of the floor.

But let's not take anything away from Raceland. If they used the strategy mentioned above then they were bond to have great success. Kudos to their coaching staff and their players for a great game plan. The 63rd District tournament will be interesting.

Dang, gonna try to get time to watch this one today on Kool TV. If Raceland was focusing on stopping the three it looks like they could've fed Rimmer enough to keep the score respectable??  Russell is young but I've never seen this type of breakdown in a two week period. Congrats to Raceland for coming in focused. Gonna be a fun post season!

Russell is one of those teams, jekyll and hyde. I've seen them look really good at times, and look like they did against the Rams. Take nothing away from Raceland at all, they are playing great basketball. This was just one of those games that gets away from you and you can't wait to get it over with.
